whats with walmart?

i went there and got a single box of 20 gauge ammo and on the register it popped up and asked if it was for a handgun on the register? now the guy at the counter did have a laugh about it to but this is just rediculous its not even a handgun round.

just a guess, but the register probably asks that question for all ammo, regardless of type just so walmart doesn't have to be liable.

Don't feel bad. I'm 18, which is good, because according to their system, you have to be 16 to buy any reloading equipment. I was buying a tumbler and a primer brush!

I'm 62 and had to show ID. I passed.
Also was asked if the 22LR ammo is for a pistol or rifle. Sales person said he required to ask that question and request ID. No big deal.

Oh, how I loathe Wal Mart. Yet, they have Blazer Brass 9mm in stock sporadically, so I go. Hopefully, soon, Midway and Cheaper than Dirt will have range 9mm ammo again, and I can continue my avoidance of the place.
