Hard to say...nearly impossible to decide.
Under any circumstance, however, I could not depart with my first SKS. My grandfather gave it to me under the conditions to never sell it or get rid of it, and pass it down to my kids one day. I'll honor that, as well as honor all of his firearms he may leave me one day.
I have a few that I would sell if I am in financial need, but most (especially my deer rifles) are not going anywhere. My Model 70 Winchester in 7mm Magnum holds a special place, its killed my biggest buck, and I always have good luck with that rifle. Since getting my Stevens Model 200 in 300 Win Mag to use as a beater, the 7mm only gets one deer a year before its put back. The past two years, I've taken it in the field twice, taking a deer with it's yearly maiden voyage out of the house for business. I also killed my first deer with the 7mm.
My Remington Model 700 in .270 is in joint custody at the moment. My girlfriend shoots it extremely well and took her first deer with it several years ago. I already tell her "That's your rifle cause I sure as hell can't shoot it that good!" It deserves to be used and shot well, unfortunately I can't live up to its needs. Takes a woman's touch I reckon... (That's probably her favorite gun!)
