.270 Remington 700 because my bones are too old and achy to walk around much in swamp thickets. Proof is my cane on back of 4-wheeler.

9.3x62 is what we reckon in Europe.

Maybe a Ruger African in 9.3x62 and a 1-4x scope with an illuminated reticule would be fairly optimal in my book.

Nothing in particular for hogs, just what I happen to have with me and where we hunt them.

For hunting thickets and hammocks where shots will be close I usually use my Marlin 1895 in 45-70 or 336 in 30-30. I've even used Rem 870 with slug barrel as it's what I happen to have at the time. When we hunt them at the citrus grove where shots usually come at longer range and everything happens fast I usually use my AR-15 or M1A. Out at the pasture or other more open areas I usually use my scoped Rem 700 in .243 or 308.

I guess I've taken more hogs with my old Rem 700 ADL in .243 than anything else as it's what I usually keep in my truck.

I think it would be fun to use a Garand on them - oink oink oink oink oink oink oink oink ping!

My favorite is my Marlin 1895 in 45-70 with a 16" barrel. It is a thumper.
