What's your favorite oddball caliber to reload for ?

.351 WSL for my maternal granddad's 1925 vintage Winchester '07, and .30Rem for my dad's (and his dad's) Remington 14 made in 1917; also .22K-Hornet, and .257 Roberts for a couple of my favorites.

Just back to reloading and shooting sports after about 35 years. My new obsession is .32 ACP whcih might not sound so "odd" except that I'm hand loading for optimized self defense rounds instead of plinking.

7.65 Argentine. It was the first cartridge I ever reloaded, cutting down .30-06 brass, trimming it with the file die, swaging the shoulder back, etc. Back in the mid-1980s there was no 7.65 brass to be had anywhere.

Same situation for the Star Super I got shortly afterward, chambered in 9mm Largo. I cut the rims off .38 Special in the lathe and cut extractor grooves in the bases.

Now I'm set up for .44 AMP, and will be doing .30 Remington soon.

.38 S&W (not .38 S&W Special - .361 diameter bullet)

9x23 Win. (straight wall case - 1450 fps with 125 gr. bullet)

38 Super is straight walled, 9x23mm Win is tapered like 9x19mm. I load both types of brass and their variants, these are my odd ball cartridges.

Greetings
Mine in rifle is the Winchester 50-95. I think the 1876 was the only rifle that used the cartrige. A real one is rather pricey so 2 years ago got one of the Chaparral repros. It is very accurate and plenty powerful with a 350 grainer at 1468 FPS cronographed with a casefull of 3F.
I would not hessitate to use it to hunt any critter. The cartrige was well used for hunting mean, nasty critters in Africa and India so there is no reason it should not still be as good today. Hopefully I will get to mash a few piggies next time up north there.
Sadly ILLinois does not allow rifle hunting but may one day awaken.
Handgun... 41 Colt and 44 Russian both longtime favorites. Newer is the 414 Supermag in a Dan Wesson 8 inch and a 12 inch Contender I made from a 14 inch 41 mag TC barrel. Actually liked the caliber so much built a 414 SM Marlin 336 also.

Oddball? What makes an oddball? I guess if not everyone has one, perhaps it is oddball? The closest thing I have to something like that is my 222 Rem. I don't personally know anyone else with one, and what a pleasure to load.
