Saw another thread on here where it can be had for $359 cheapest I've seen it was $399 locally usually about $449. I was looking for another pistol. Any thoughts? I know nothing about the gun.

I'm very pleased with mine. It's resting gently on my hip as I type this--with me all my waking hours. I've had zero issues with the Shield. It's a very fine CC weapon. Accurate, soft shooter, light, reliable. It comes with a 7-round and 8-round magazines. The price is excellent.

I don't have a bad word to say about it, myself. As mentioned in previous post, comes with 7 & 8 rd mags. With the 8 rd mag, I chamber one and reload the mag for 9 rd capacity. I was to the range a few days ago, fired approx 200 rds of commercial and an additional 100 rds of re-loads. Smooth as silk , in my opinion, easy to break down and clean. It's small enough to pocket carry with a pocket holster, comfortable enough to carry on the hip around the house. Hardly know you've got it on. I put a Crimson Trace laser on it and love it.

One thing I found was that it was difficult reloading the mags as it got fuller. I actually bought a UPLULA brand reloader device for 9mm. Fabulous little 'gismo'. Well worth the $30. Enjoy the Shield. :)

Love mine. If you can find one for $359 buy it. If you don't like it you could easily sell it for more than you paid.

I think the size to capacity ratio is tough to beat. I bought one for my wife and now I want one for me! :D

I too bought one for my wife. She loves it. The Shield, like the Nano and XDs, is a great combination of capacity, concealment and firepower. It's an awesome CCW. The selling point for my wife was the external safety, since she carries it in her purse.

Well I just saw it at the $359 price point and my jaw just about dropped, so I went on an impulse and ordered one. I have only ever heard great things, so I'll report back when it arrives!

Would you mind either posting, or if against the rules, sending me a PM as to who has this price?

Thanks, I want one! PS: Never mind, I just found it!

I paid considerably over MSRP for mine, as it was not CA approved at the time, but I have no regrets. It's a great small CCW gun.

(All opinions based on 9mm shield...not the 40)

I love mine. I think it's one of the best combinations of concealability, full grip and easy shooting.

That last part is very very important to me. I have to have my carry gun be one I WANT to practice with all the time. There are smaller guns, lighter guns and guns that are a bit wider and carry more ammo, but not one of them beats the combo the shield brings in my opinion.

I've shot it in .40. It handled the snap surprisingly well for the size, but not so well that I would own it in .40-- slow to moderate speed was fine. Truly defensive speed was a bit of a rodeo. The safety is too small for me to be comfortable with under stress, and I have an aversion for "just leaving the safety off" and assuming that it will still be off if I need it. Easy to be accurate with. When I fired it, 4 other guys also ran rounds through. Even the casuals shot it well (according to their individual skill level) at 7yds. The owner was stacking rounds with it, but calling him 'experienced' is an understatement.

Ultimately, my personal preference of carrying service pistols and the safety on it prevent me from having any interest in what I acknowledge is a fantastic platform for 9mm.

I wish the manual safety was gone, but it's an extremely positive on and off, and the same profile that makes it moderately difficult to switch off also makes it difficult to accidentally switch on.

I love mine to death- I carry my Glock 19 more, but the M&P Shield shoots just as easily.

I one upped it W/the 9c s&w m&p for cc. as my xds45 is in shop, my m&p 40c was my secondary.Bought used couldn't hit a flip w/it! Forgot w/light recoil was and worked up an horn. xtp 115gr. rnd./w p.pistol max ld.6.7grns. brought it down to 6.4 and call it macaronie! Might replace my xds/w/the 9 shield, for summertime t-shirt wheather.

I'm sorry but I can't find it now, but I believe it was a one day special. But I have seen them pretty common at $399

I just bought one today in 9mm. I'm pretty impressed so far. It seems to fit my hands and my needs better than anything else I've tried for CCW.

I really like my shield 9. It replaced my G26. Only issue right now is finding those 8 round mags. Handles recoils very well and does not feel rediculously small in the grip with fingers hanging off everywhere. Not feeling like a brick under stress was important to me.

If I want more capacity, then the G17 or other options are available. It just feels like a bigger gun than it is, while still being small, and smaller still with the 7 rounders. I don't leave the "safety" on, but like having it there, not sure why:confused:

My biggest complaint is that the trigger is TERRIBLE. My gauge shows that my gun is breaking between 7.5 and 7.75lbs! An Apex kit is a must for me.

I've only had mine 3 weeks but I'm really impressed. I thought at first though thin it was still a large pistol. But it's size makes it a great handling and shootable CCW. While my friends PF9 feels much lighter, the Shield is so much easier to shoot accurately. Good sights, great build quality, great quality magazines.

I will be installing the apex kit in a few months after I proves itself reliable. I would like the trigger to be a little lighter...

This is everybody's complaint about every gun ever, so if that's all, well that's good.

I find a 7.5 to 7.75lbs trigger on anything other than a DAO to be ridiculous. I don't expect a striker fired gun to break at 3.5lbs and feel like my 1911s, but I certainly expected better than 7.5lbs after about 500 dry fires.

A $50 Apex sear and ten minutes will bring it down to 5-3/4# if you feel that is necessary. I did, and also changed the sights. Overall, the Shield is a very reliable, accurate firearm.
