I have been checking the Ruger web site regularly, nothing! :banghead: … When are their SP’s in .327 going to make it to stores?? Arg! Anyone have any info?

Basically with the .327 Magnum you get "almost" .357 Magnum performance with 30% less recoil. You also get 6 rounds in a small revolver instead of the customary 5 that have been standard for many years. Those are the 2 high points from the way I see it.
Do a search on this forum and you will get some additional information.

My friend at work mentioned that caliber, and I was curious.
I own six handguns, only two of which are the same caliber, none being .327, which is why I'm not interested in yet another size round to have on hand.
If he gets one, I'll be sure to test it out.

There's a store near me (central VA) with one in the display case - it's been there for weeks too. I've looked at it, but decided I want to wait to see if the calibre takes off enough to drop the ammo prices. It would cost more to shoot then any other calibre I have (.357, .45 and 9mm), and I just don't feel like buying into another, and very pricey, calibre right now.

AI just picked mine up this past weekend at clark bothers in Northern Virginia. It took me 5 months to find 1.

I have seen only one .327magnum revolver. The Charter Arms 4 inch barrel stainless. Price is $419.00 new. Not available in blued steel. Maybe the Ruger sp101 is smaller/less heavy? I haven`t seen one. Don`t know price yet. Was thinking of asking a dealer about ordering one.

Keep in mind, the predecessor, .32 H&RM, was around since 1984 - and everyone but Charter Arms (.32M Undercoverette) had dropped them as of last year due to poor sales. Reportedly, Ruger had a glut of the 3" SP101 in .32 H&RM last year - then out comes the '.327 Magnum', which, oddly, would only require rereaming the chambers deeper - and restamping the caliber - voila, .327 Magnum SP101!
I had a 4" .32H&RM SP101 until early in the summer. It has a cheesy windage-only adjustable rear sight. The chambers - like my 4.6" BHG SSM - measured .337+", barely in SAAMI specs. Since my Dillon dies sized my Starline brass to the same .334" as commercial brass, both would bulge slightly - even weak .32 S&WL MagTech lead - in the chambers, making extraction much more difficult - and 'working' the brass, reducing it's reloadable life. My local pusher had to return the next to the last one he got in, just weeks ago - it spit too much - timing/oversized chambers suspected. The last one had obvious chamber problems - never sat in the display case - went back last week.
I left the .32 H&RM/S&WL world because ammo & reloading supplies were getting hard to find and as expensive as .38 Special. I'd rather launch the .38 Special - I have a lot nicer firearms to launch them in than an SP101. YMMV.

PS The GA Arms 100gr (XTP) JHP in .32 H&RM was chrono-ed from my 4" SP101 at 1,186 fps - pretty hot - and nasty (spit!).

i just seen a .327 that said performance center on it at gander mountain. It really looked nice but they wanted like 650 for it. 4" barrel bead blasted bobbed hammer. Nice looking gun

I haven't had a chance to do any reloading for the .327 yet, I'm burning through the factory rounds I picked up first in order to get the brass. I haven't been able to shoot much lately due to job and life changes but it's starting to clear up so I should be able to play soon.

I would like to see the .327 mag in a Ruger Single Six or Bearcat, Heritage Rough Rider, S&W .22 revolver or any of the other guns that were chambered in .32H&R mag. I would think that most of them would be able to handle it, the main grinch being cylinder length. I would buy one in the above mentioned small frame SA revolvers, not too interested in snub nose double action revolvers.

I have carried an S&W 3913LS for a good many years but alas, middle age eyesight has made laser grip sights seem important. Needed to find something else to carry and was told the .327 would be a good option. I considered lots of other things but after looking at several choices today, found and bought the Ruger SP101 in .327. Don't know if they have any others but am guessing they can get them. For anyone interested in the SP101 in .357 they had one with Ruger factory Crimson Trace grips for $575., if I remember correctly. Seemed like a good price. From what I can tell, the Ruger factory grips are the pricier rubber wrap arounds and not the hard polymer. Best of all, the folks were very patient and helpful answering all my questions. This was my first revolver purchase so I had a lot of them to be answered!
Hope this is helpful to anyone looking for the .327. Oh...and they also had the Charter Arms in .327. Just didn't feel quite as good in my hands and I don't recall the price.
Yes, the ammo is pricey, but you can use regular .32's for target shooting and save the $$ stuff for carry.

this cartridge makes me wish I hadn't sold my 4" 32H&RM sp101, otherwise I'd have a reamer on the way
