Subcompact? P2000s are still sitting around in a warehouse somewhere. It's P2003 now.

:banghead:

The P2000 Subcompact is still in development; don't count on seeing them until at least late '04 or '05-ish at the earliest..

Price? Who knows. Your guess is as good as ours.;)

don't hold your breath, given HK's recent performance. After all, where are all the HK USPc LEMs that they promised?

HK's got zero credibility in my eyes.

Lots o' changes w/ new ownership taking control. Sure it's 2003, but new guys have just started their rein w/ HK. I'm gonna try to stay optimistic.

In the holsters of US Border Patrol agents.
They had promised that the LEM trigger module would be available to the general public as well. IIRC, it was supposed to be available more than a year ago. Still no sign of it.

The P2000 was supposed to be available last year. Still no sign of it.

Sorry, but I have zero faith in HK at the moment. They make empty promises and never deliver.

I've still got a couple of YEARS to save up the $800 it will probably cost.

:( From what I've read in other posts, projected pice is $800+ :( In CA, add tax & dros and your easily pushing $1000 :( :scrutiny:

Average Joe Schmoe USPs are kinda rare in my parts, let alone P2Ks or USPc LEMs...I am rather interested in the P2000, although there's a better chance that I'd be struck by lightning coming through the window while taking a shower on a warm summer day than actually seeing a P2K in person.

Word is that there was a run of german police P2000's imported by HK that was in the country ready for distribution. The magazines were modified to only hold 10 rounds. Apparently, this was not enough to satisfy the ATF - they said the mags were too easy to convert back to hicaps. Now we have to wait for the US version, which will use USP 9mm compact mags.

Rocko

I don't think they will redesign the gun to accomodate a USPcompact magazine! The uspc magazine is larger than the P2000 mag in width. i.e. it won't fit. I don't understand the specifics though, as it seems it would be more difficult to convert a P2000 mag than it would a Glock mag. What gives?

[eager_skunker]Where did you hear this? If this is so, this is great news, but do you have any solid evidence? [/eager_skunker]:scrutiny:

The magazine thing was just a rumor I saw on HKPRO recently - I meant to mean "Rumor has it..." more than "Word has it...". Sorry about the confusion.

I'd heard the reason for delay was because of the magazines a few times previously, so it seems more likely that there is real truth to that. Seems logical that HK would want to make the magazines readily convertible back to the original capacity as well, with the very real possibility of the AWB sunsetting. They probably don't want to tool up for a completely different magazine that no one will want in a 18 months, if we have any luck.

That was the first time I'd heard about it using the USP's mags, though. Could be complete BS, for all I know. I can't seem to find the thread over at HKPRO now - I think it was in one of the compact P2000 threads, but I can only find the "big" thread there now - perhaps the multiple threads were deleted to clean up the board and keep it in one thread?

Rocko
