When do you think this gun buying and ammo buying panic is going to subside? Right now I'm unable to find inexpensive ammunition for my rifles online, it seems every place I go Wolf and the other russian brands are out of stock, as well as more expensive american brands as well. I'd like to buy some more 7.62x39mm wolf but can't seem to locate it. It seems it's been like this for a few weeks now, when will the madness cease? I'm hoping after the Obama inauguration the ammo buying spree will end.

Lets see....

Pro:

- Christmas is over so present buying should ease back a little.

- Winter is getting really cold raising heating costs cutting back on casual outdoor shooting.

Con-
- Quarterly reports are not out yet. If they are as bad as I think they are then the economy is headed into a real tailspin. This will be countered by printing lots of money and having it air dropped over Wall Street (in an unintended consequence the NY sanitation workers go on strike and refuse to clean it up).

- Obama gets sworn into office in three weeks and will immediately ban all assault rifles, CCLs, hunting, target shooting, gasoline powered cars, ammo imports and trans fats.

(shakes Magic 8 Ball vigorously)

''Signs Say Yes''

It largely depends on what the Democrats do in Washington, and how it is reported in the mass media and Internet (which may not be the same :uhoh:).

What happens will either cool or feed the frenzy. :banghead:

You must be wearing not only a tinfoil hat, but a tinfoil body suit.

It will stop when 1: people can't afford those guns. (not too likely, most people will still be employed.)
2: The Democrats lost control of the presidency or Senate or 3: A ban happens.

I think he was joking.

What are you talking about? I shoot outdoors more in the winter!

now that's funny..............:D

Buying panic will only subside if:

1) the economy continues to tank to the point that the inflated prices become too much to bear.

-- OR --

2) a gun ban is actually introduced (after which today's prices will be the good old days!) and dies (don't bet on it!).

--wally.

Obama is intelligent enough to know that firearm legislation can be career limiting; aside from that, he has a couple of higher priority issues that will keep him occupied.

I think things will calm down before the end of 2009, if no restrictive legislation gets serious consideration.

If "that one" is elected for a second term, all bets are off!

Obama got elected because he was the first minority President and the blacks voted en masse for him. No surprise there, this event is one that gives the black race something quite memorable and exciting to achieve. People who never voted before were getting involved . . . knocking on doors, signing people up to vote who'd never voted before, etc.

BUT LET'S NOT FORGET . . .

The radical arm of the Democratic party from the past ALSO voted, and they still hold most of the power national power. Yes, our old foes are back . . . and they WILL be trying to come for our guns, with an new bunch of empowered voters who will vote lock step with the party that brought their "brother" to the White House.

No, Obama got elected because Bush and Co. has been ransacking this country for the past 8 years (even though A LOT of people don't know/forget Democrats have been running Congress for 2 years), and McCain and Palin made themselves look like idiots during the campaign. I personally know plenty of minorities (I am one) who don't like or never liked Obama. Also, I know I a lot of people (white, black, etc.) who voted for Obama and now regret that decision. I tried to warn them that he was more of the same (and worse) but nobody wanted to listen. Oh well.

With that said, this panic buying will probably continue for a while. As long as the threat of more bans is around, and the threat IS real, than the panic buying will go on.

When those who want to buy guns number less than the supply! Yes I know it's a chicken answer.

My crystal ball is broken but I say we will know soon enough.

Of course we may one day consider this the carefree days.

I was a little surprised to see how fast mags were in and out of stock at bravo today. I thought we were past that. I guess not

I can go out and buy 1,000 rounds of federal military surplus for 12$ per 20, and I can get wolf at under 8 per 20. This is all at the local gander mountain as of 6 days ago.
