what to do next?

Bored with simply acquiring another gun that does the same thing, what's next?

My current inventory has something from just about every genre. I know there are more guys out there with more guns, <YAWN> but I am satisfied with what I have and seeking something else more fulfilling.

Some guns in the inventory.

"when you've gotten all of the guns you've ever wanted..."

I aint gonna ever have that much money:)

Start collecting knives!
That's been considered but I can't help but come back to the notion that with the really cool knives - unlike guns which you can go out and shoot - there's not a whole lot you can do with them but look and touch. I mean - what the heck is one to do with a gladius or a bastard blade, a long sword or a katana?

Load up on Pineapples and watermellons at the market?:D

Every time that I think I have every firearm that I want, they develop some new model. :)

Seriously, I have almost everything that I need, but I could never accumulate every firearm that I would like to have. I used to think so, but no. I am a firearms collector, plain and simple.

When you'be gotten all of the guns you've ever wanted...

You write your will and make it very clear that each and every one of them goes to me :)

I'm in pretty much the same boat as the OP. The most I've ever owned at once was around 60 and that was around 3 or 4 years ago. Since then I've been selling, or doing 2 for 1 upgrades. Right now I'm down to around 35 or so and except for a couple of ultra expensive collectibles, that I'm not going to spend the money for, I can't really think of anything offhand I'm dying to have.

In fact, I could probably part with half my current collection and not notice the loss. Some are sentimental items, some have historical value (at least to me), some are hunting guns (and I don't hunt anymore and haven't for 15 years), some are carry guns I don't carry anymore and some I bought because I got a killer deal and couldn't pass it up. Oh, and some I bought during that first crazy month with a new C&R license.

I find myself shooting the same half dozen guns at the range over and over again, the rest are safe queens. I can think of at least 10 I wouldn't even miss if I sold them.

I must have some kind of fever.

Get into a different type of shooting sport.

Then you will find a need for guns you didn't 'need' before.

(Not to mention other gear)

Learn to shoot. I mean really shoot. Take instruction, shoot 2 twice a week, compete.
Start collections, like all the US import SKS's (and bringbacks).

I know a guy who made his own muzzleloader (Kentucky Rifle. He had to buy the barrel, and made every other part himself. He bought a pretty block of wood, carving it into a stock. He handfitted the metal parts from rough sand castings. I think it was a 13 hour operation just to make the buttplate. It's a beautiful rifle and I smile each time I see him shoot it.

I can't get him to admit how much time he put into it, but he did once comment "With the time it takes to do it right, I can't see how anyone can make a living building these things."

Do you have a dedicated hunting rifle? You could take up hunting. . .

I have put a personal cap on myself of 36 AK variants, no more than 6 AR lowers (I have yet to set a number on uppers and of course this does not include 308 AR's. Though I have one and it fits all my needs). I only have a couple of hand guns, but the number of suppressors is begining to get out of control. (Larry, you should NOT take days off.....) I have yet to get the DD's reactivated because I have not figured out what I am going to feed them. But I am putting a firm cap on 100 serial numbers.

As for what comes after that, I have to figure out how to feed them all.

Geez! No Old Double Rifles in 600 Nitro Express! No stockpiles of huge Nitro Express cartridges as big as your hand, no Huge KA-BOOMS at the range causing everyone to run for their cars to roll up the windows because of the Thunder Clap and approaching RainStorm? You need to get out there and start buying again, my Friend!!!

Do you know how to USE what you have. I don't mean shoot, anyone can do that, I mean USE them. Pop for some training courses, not only will you learn something new, but you'll have fun too!

No collection is complete with out a few Colt Government Models.
How about IDPA/IPSC competition? Cast and reload and go out and compete.
