I'm spending too much on out-of-the-box guns. :banghead: Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

gun shows. used guns from police and from everywhere else. I saw taurus's, smiths, glocks.
the smiths came for 400 bucks, 3 mags and 2 boxes of ammo in a .40 cal. tactical versions for police issue. They were nice, but I don't like .40.

Gunbroker...Auctionarms...Gunsamerica...( on-line Auctions and Sales...)

Buyer be-ware, always...of course, look critically at the listing, the images, and the Seller's other Auctions/Sales, Feedback, if any...e-mail them with quesitons, dialogue with them...see how things feel...but overall, these are good places to 'shop', and one may do so without leaving one's Desk-and-Chair...and most Sellers are staight, honest, on-the-level folks.

Pawnshops. That's where all my deals come from. It will take some hunting to find one that is moving guns and willing to deal, but I'd bet there is one in your area.

They are everywhere. I find them in gun shops, pawn shops, newspapers, free classifieds, bulletin boards, word of mouth in barbershops and coffee shops. Had a conversation in a tire shop and found a nice Colt. I look for guns and all accessories everywhere I go, even got a nice 22 at church one sunday. grocery clerk told me about a S&W M19 the other day. Just have them as first on you mind and you will find them, or they will find you. I have never seriously shopped for guns on the internet, its too easy close to home.

Just this past month I got two really good deals on a 25-2 ($440 shipped) and a 29-2 ($450+ shipping) on the classified listings on internet gun forums.

On top of all of the really good advice above, ask your local ranges if they have any range rental guns for sale; they may show some wear but the price is usually right. I picked up a 10/22 and two AP-74s (the 22lr AR-15) for $300 out the door, because I asked if they had any range guns for sale.

When/If I get my FFL, you can get them from me. :) That is what I intend to specialize in. :D Keep your eyes on the "for sale" section.

You spend on used guns too. As others have mentioned, these are good places to what for guns for sale. Also, you can find some "good" used guns on consignment at gun shops if they handle that sort of thing. Prices are typically near current market value. But I expect to pay that for quality guns.

We sell them on budsgunshop.com

But as the above poster mentioned, some used guns go for real high. Good luck and check them pawn shops.

gun shows, pawn shops, and auctions/auction sites. Be very keen on examining used products. Always check that the safety, trigger, etc. all work. Make sure the barrel and important moving pieces are in good shape. And of course, make sure the serial number is legible.

I really like estate sales -- sometimes you can find a real gem. Like any auction, however, you are likely to have competition, and that drives up the prices.

I do most of my buying online -- the web auction sites seem to have better prices. But I enjoy gun shows, so I keep going, and every now and then....:D

I don't know anymore.

I have not seen a bargain gun at a gun show in 4 or 5 years.

For some reason very few estate or garage sales around here have anything even remotely related to firearms.

I don't even see all that many knives at flea markets around here, except for junk.

I went to an auction about ten years ago. Was a gun store that was closing. People bid up stuff over the sticker price on the guns.

Not much with pawn shops these days either.
