I thought that Cabelas would not do the free shipping to store on hazmat? Can anyone confirm or deny?

@ Beentown:

Just asked via Live Chat on the Cabella's site:

- Start transcript:

Mitch J: Hi, my name is Mitch J. How may I help you?
TheSaint: Hi Mitch.
TheSaint: I'm looking at some reloading powders on your website and am interested in using the ship to store option.
TheSaint: Do you charge a HAZMAT fee to have those items shipped from your distribution center to a store location?
Mitch J: Due to the Hazardous Shipping Restrictions, we cannot ship powder or primers to the retail store. Those items have to be shipped to your home address and there is a $20 hazmat fee.
TheSaint: Do some of your stores stock powder/primers, or are they generally web-only?
Mitch J: Our retail stores do stock powder and primers, but you will have to contact the retail store directly to see what they have in stock.
TheSaint: Thank you very much for your help, I'll do just that.

I guess we have been helping keep Berry's MFG busy. They should be saying, "Shoot all you want, we'll make more."

One silver lining to the current "shortage cloud" has been that I am happy to support the "right" segment of the economy! :D

Dear Valued Customers,

We wish to express our sincerest gratitude for the unprecedented volume of orders we are currently experiencing and know that it is you that have made Berry’s the number one choice in reloading.

We value each and every customer, and strive to provide the very best customer service while never compromising the Berry’s standard of quality you’ve come to expect.

However, while current conditions are great for business, it also presents a dilemma for the Berry’s team as we work to keep all of our customers satisfied while carefully growing our operational capacity.

Hence, in order to keep up with order commitments, we will, from time-to-time, place the availability of certain high-demand products on hold while supply catches up with demand.

Current fulfillment is running about 6-8 weeks; however, we will always ship earlier if possible. We humbly request you allow us this time to satisfy your order.

Please know that we are employing significant resources to reduce our fulfillment cycle, and will continue to make every effort to make Berry’s your first choice for all your shooting sport needs.

Sincerely,

Tony Berry
Vice President
Berry’s Manufacturing

Thanks!

Primers

I have 1000 CCI 550. Need small and large pistol. Also need something for my AR. chambered in .308 DPMS. I haven't got around to seeing what primer I need for it yet so suggestions and trades are welcome. I am in south FL Miami area if anyone wants to trade. I wanted CCI 500 guess I should have looked closer.

thanks jlucke69!

natchezss.com is effectively down, but after an hour of server timeouts and retries, I got an order confirmation.

great thread everyone, keep up the good work!

I was in my local (1 1/2 hour away) cabelas today, they had sierra and varmegetton .224 bullets on the shelves. Was shocked.

Cabela's still has a lot of powders in stock. Probably because you can only order two of any item per person per day. $20 hazmat fee is cheaper than anyone else I've found since I can't ever find anything in a local store.

FatElvis, I have been using Gunbot.net to find primers. In the last 2 weeks, I have been able to get 48K primers (SP, LP, LR, SR) for myself and my local buddies without paying high prices. I am seeing more primers available (some about everyday) but they are still going fast. Midway and Natchez received large shipments late last week and sold out within 1/2 hour on most.

Holy cow. I wish I could afford even half that amount of primers.

dsm, thanks for posting - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=8890682#post8890682

dsm posted why some vendors may not be able to process/ship products even though they show "in-stock" on the website.

While I can sympathize with that vendor, in the last 3 weeks I have spent over $1,800 in reloading components/equipments and the following vendors all have promptly provided email responses to my online orders (same/next day) and actually DELIVERED their products to me timely.

- Gamaliel: 3 days
- Brownell: 4 days
- Titan Reloading: 6 days
- Affordable Brass & Bullets: 6 days
- Factory Sales: 9 days
- Montana Gold Bullets: 12 days
- Rocky Mountain Reloading: 18 days

If you want to ensure you receive your reloading supplies and equipment timely, I strongly recommend you order from vendors posted on this thread when they indicate items are in stock as backordering and in-stock alerts have not always worked consistently or timely for THR members recently.

I will take dsm's post into consideration and won't post that particular vendor's inventory until THR members indicate they are caught up with their orders and actually shipping products again.

Just to help other THR members/guests out, could some of you post your recent orders by vendor and days it took for delivery? This may help to determine which vendors are actively/timely shipping their in-stock items. ;)
XYZ vendor - X days
We are all in this together and I am sure many appreciate our networked effort to identify reloading components/equipment in stock.

Thanks! And great job everyone!

Keep up the good "High Road" work!
