clarification for those unfamiliar with FNAR

Do you know what rifle people are talking about in this thread?
The FN-AR (Fabrique Nationale - Autoloading Rifle, from FNH USA (
http://www.fnhusa.com/le), is a .308 Win/7.62x51mm NATO police marksman rifle (or designated marksman rifle, DMR), not at all to be confused with a military sniper rifle (which often happens and causes sore points all around - don't go there!). It is available for USA public purchase. It is intended for 50 to few-hundred yards high-rate of aimed fire, stand-off support for law enforcement operations. It is relatively new, introduced in late 2008, only available in quantity in 2009, so controversy swirls as to its reliability, ruggedness, non-LE applications, etc., but everybody agrees that it is a highly accurate (sub-1 MoA factory guaranteed) and smooth-recoiling rifle (smooth for more rapid follow-up shots). It could be one of the best semi-auto .308s around (esp. for the money, ~$1400 give or take), but since it has minimal track record, don't go there either.
Early adopters of the FNAR are working out the bugs at
FNAR area at FN-sponsored user web site as well as on THR and elsewhere.
Here is a photo of my heavy barrel (HB) FNAR at
this page or nearby on same thread (same user_name). Photos are also here on THR; search on posts by me, jackdanson, gga338, ARLover and others; sorry I can't recall all OTMH.
Fine rifle. I think you should buy one.
