Where did the Pachmayr Presentations go?

There are none to fit a square butt "N" frame to be found anywhere, not even on the Lyman "mothership" website.
What happened?

There quality got really bad.

Look on eBay for an older pair.

Except for maybe some of the Classic series revolvers, S&W has not made a square butt frame N-frame in a while.

Even so, I guess the customer base wants finger groove style rubber grips so even the round frame Presentation grips were no longer profitable.

eBay is probably a good source of used Presentation grips but also, I found quite a few at gun shows.

They went to China, and then straight to hell.

I bought a set for my Ruger Redhawk .41 Mag last year. The halves didn't meet on the backstrap and left a gap.

Never again.

Hopefully you have better luck with their N frame grips.

I like older N-frame Presentation Size "Small" on my 629 and 58. They are bigger than Magna service grips, but not grotesquely huge. Pre-Covid, they were easy to find on the used grip table at gunshows.

Be wary of buying new-old-stock Pachmayr grips. The material does not always age well. Storage conditions probably make a difference.
