For those of you who carry a backup gun, do you carry it strongside, weakside, or wherever is most comfortable with no regard to employment? I carry my BUG available to my weakside hand in case my strong hand is disabled. Thoughts?

Smith 357 is normally strong side but I voted for weak side because I've recently decided to make the switch. I would like to have it weak side incase strong side is disable or otherwise engaged.

Say if someone tried to stike me with a machete or a bat. I would probably block it with the strong side. With BUG on the weak side I could draw and fire before a second swing came. After a blow from one of those I would probably not want to shoot with that arm anyway.

I also like to carry the kids strong side but normally actually do carry them on the weak side to allow for a faster draw. With BUG on the weak side it wouldn't matter so much.

My cousin is a LEO in CA and carries a second on his ancle weakside, but crossdraw. In that setup you can grab with either left or right really easy.

I always carry my backup gun for the weak hand either in a pocket holster or IWB.
