Where does your 870 eject your spent shells?

What kind of ejection pattern are you getting from your 870?

My 7 year old Express and old CHP Wingmaster send 'em about 4' at about 2:00 pretty consistently. A new one that I've got would spit them out somewhat randomly between 1' and 5' away at anywhere from 1:00 and 3:00.

I've already replaced the extractor and bolt parts, so I'm wondering now if the ejector needs tuning. It did seem kinda soft compared to those on my older ones.

As long as it is ejecting reliably does it matter where they go?

Also, depending on how hard and fast you pull the slide back, it can make a diff as to where they go.

I have a 1100 in 28 ga and it will throw the hull sometimes 20 to 25 feet away.

My 870 Express supermag tosses em everywhere! My 1100 will keep em within a few square feet @ about 2:00 and my Benelli M2 can make a neat pile. Being that I'm new to this forum, I not quite ready to admit what other two shotguns I own!:banghead:

Depends on if I am slamming it back and forth, trying to nail another duck, dove, or skeet - or if I'm just out plinking.
