I'm looking into getting m91/30 or m44 rifle and was wondering whats the good place to buy them on internet? Seems like people reselling those rifles for more then you can get one from widener's.

I had good results with J&G Sales for a Mosin 91-30 a couple of years ago. The one I ordered from them was in really good shape and shot very well. Their prices are reasonable but you do have to consider shipping and FFL fees when comparing them to buying locally. The link is to a page for their round receiver Mosins; there may be other companies that beat their prices somewhat but I have no experience with them.

Think the supply of cheap, clean M44's is all but dried up these days...

Still see some 91/30s at Big 5 once in a while for $99 or less.

Southern Ohio Gun, Aim Surplus, JG Sales, Pawn shops, classifieds. I've bought from all of them.

Sometimes Cabelas has a diamond in the rough that is overlooked, but I missed out on the last one I saw. It was a numbers matching 1895 Chilean long rifle in 7x57 for $150 a little less than a year ago.

I've always gotten mine through private f2f at gun shows. I have heard good things about aimsurplus though.

All the suggestions are good. However, the golden age of milsurps is gone and the pickings are getting pretty slim. Most of what you find is on the secondary market....chris3

Yeah I haven't seen much any more myself, Last I heard/read all the importers are getting dry on stock from other countries. I suggest keeping an eye on gunbroker and the sites like that.

I been looking for a mg 42 for years now and havent found a good one yet, and a SVT-40 last SVT-40 I saw was Service quality with all the original equipment for 2500 and I didnt have the funds at the time.

Thanks everybody, had my FFL send a copy to classic arms. Going to get one of those chi com m44s.
thanks again.

I usually buy my gun's at gun shows since my buddy and I set-up and frequent them.If your a dealer you get first dibs and lower price's i noticed.I have brought my Ar-Hbar and Ruger at a store Gun World and brought my swiss K-31 on gunbroker.I really like gun broker.

For what you're looking (M91/30 or M44), many of the venders above are OK. But, you'll have more fun going to a big gunshow (carrying cash) and handling them. Alot of bigger shows around here (DE, eastern MD&PA) will have crates of M91/30s and plenty of M44s. Visit the 7.62x54r.net to learn the various riles. Handle them (bring a rag), check bore & crown. You'll find more than one you like...some venders will bargain down for cash. Buy a spam can too...440rnds for around $80.
