I bought some 7/8 oz. 12 Gauge Federal shells from Wally World awhile ago and loved em. I'm almost out now and I can't seem to find them anywhere! I've been looking at Natchez, Cheaper than Dirt, running a search, and a few of the Walmarts around the area, but can't find em.

The guy at Walmart said that they don't have any control over what is ordered and whatever, so a special order wasn't an option. Or maybe I just need to ask the right person...

Does anyone know where I can find them?

12 gauge

You can find 26 gram Winchester AA's at Turners. They are the low recoil low noise target load Cat. No. AA12FL8 for 8 shot. The have a velocity of 980 fps ( I think). Not very inexpensive like Wally's World but if you catch a sale which seems to happen every 2-3 months and stock up they are around $5.00 a box, normally about $6.00 a box.

If all else fails, Ballistic Products carries the Fiocchi 7/8 oz loads. I have used them with new shotgunners and with relatives. They bust birds nicely.

Or, get a MEC and make your own. Mine run $2.80 a box and take about 8 minutes to make.

Dave, if I might make a request---the reloading forum on THR has approximately zero content on handloading shotshells.

I'll bet there are many viewers of THIS forum who could use a Dave McC primer on shotshell reloading. I'm first in line. I inherited a decent supply of shot, powder, wads and hulls. I need only the press & bushings (I think?) to get started. And a nice 7/8 ounce practice load would be a great place to start.

Your comment about $2.80 a box, and PARTICULARLY 8 minutes to make--is very appealing. I can't run to Wal-Mart and buy a box in that little time.

OK Dave, let me see what I can do. Meanwhile, punch in reloading and my name in an advanced search and read up on what I've written already and the usual suspects have supplemented woinderfully....

[Smacks forehead with palm]. Thanks, Dave. How could I forget. Looks like you already did a good thread on handloading shotshells. Found it.
