I would like to find a good, preferably better than average, solid and reliable hunting scope with a German #4 reticle. I'm trying to find a scope without all the current reticle patterns that are made for long distance. Don't want or need the BDC or other ladder reticles, but would like the benefit of current glass options and crisp adjustment knobs, so do not want an older used scope. Found one Bushnell with an illuminated German #4 reticle. Don't really need the illumination, but may opt for it if I can't find something better. I'm will to pay what I need to to get what I want. Tract has one that they call T-Plex which is similar to the German #4, but only in a 4-12X. I would like to have up to 16X. So, any ideas??

German #4 is my favorite reticle. I have scopes from Meopta, Zeiss and Leupold with them. Until Leupold re-opens their custom shop and I have major doubts they ever will, you can pretty much forget a #4 from them. The Tract T-Plex reticle is thicker than most duplex reticles I’ve seen.

There are plenty of scopes made with German #4: Meopta, Zeiss, Swarovski, Leica and Minox to wit. The most reasonably priced scopes are going to most likely be Meopta.

Clearridge offers g#4s on their Ultra XP5s also.....bout 400ish for those...japan made
I've only heard good reports about them. But I've never used one

The custom shop has been closed for over a year with no date of when it might re-open. I starting to think it never will, seriously. I had the custom shop put a German #4 in a VX-3 1.75-6x32 back in 2015. I love that scope and believe it’s just about perfect for my Marlin 30-30.

Agree with you on Meopta. The others get pricey. But that is what they cost and the quality is there. I just bought a Meopta MeoPro from Cameraland.

Same. My favorite reticle for anything under 300 yds.

I have a handful of Vortex Razor HD LH with a variant of a #4, along with a Steiner (bought from Natchez, as a matter of fact).
