I was wondering what a good site to get various shotgun [m500] accessories. I want to upgrade the look of my shotgun. Not to one of those butchered things that has every possible upgrade possible. Also a few questions

1. where can i get the knoxx sidewinder system
2. does the thing the sight is set on on the m500's barrel[looks like a rail] work like one?
3.what is a good tactical/carry sling for a shotgun.
4.what's a good red dot or reflex sight to try on a shotgun
5 how do you tap the 500 receiver for a rail ?

Where to get accessories....

1.) Good luck finding ANYTHING made by Knoxx....they were bought out? by BlackHawk recently....heard they're moving production back to The States! but it's gonna be awhile before production catches up w/ demand.Great products- just bad timing for finding any!

2.)I don't know this one.

3.)My favorite is the ones made by Quake Industries. The grip pad actually stays on your shoulder.Tough as nails.Google 'em, or Cabelas or Midway?Cheaperthan dirt # 34960 $17.68 .
Second choice: neoprene sling by BlackHawk-cheaperthandirt.com $12.63 item # 43791.

4.)Dunno about reflex sight, but I've been using a 42 mm RedDot by A-1 Optics-I think it was less than $40 bucks, and it's the only one I've owned that likes shotgun recoil.

In all fairness, I've never owned a REALLY high-dollar one, but it's durable
and stays where you set it.

5.) No drill; no tap...B-Square makes nice saddle mounts....#22712 @ cheaperthandirt.com $42.38.
Aren't some of the M500's drilled and tapped, factory? In which case, you'd just need the rail....

(You just happened to ask this stuff when I was going thru the latest CTD.com book!):D

These are just some ideas to kick around....I only know what works for me! Lotsa folks on this forum know WAY more than I do about shotguns....they'll help you even more.

----Gnarly

You should be asking yourself, "Is any of this stuff really an upgrade?"

Bolting stuff onto your gun for "looks" isn't a very good way to be taken seriously. That's all I'm sayin'.

Thanks gnarly. Also tacninja I'm just putting a few bits on it for fun/hd. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna leave the stock as is. If i do change the stock I'm gonna put a foldable grip on it[maybe like the spas-12].

If you're spending more on boltons tham ammo, your priorities may need rethinking.

Run a few cases of ammo through your shotgun. When the figurative pile of empties reaches past your ankles, you'll be in a better position to tell what you NEED vs what looks Cool.

Already done that. i run roughly 800+ through my shotgun over the course of roughly a year. I love my pretty little baby. i did fully dissemble her yesterday, and realize she needs massive cleaning on the inner parts. not just the barrel o.0. First i think i might get the rail, the a red dot i think, so i can run slugs better. Where can i get more Exotic addons. not really to buy, just i wanna see what they are i mean look at this guys poor mossberg

i mostly wanna see these parts specificaly, not for purchase really. i don't like to torture a good gun. Even though that does look like the pancor jackhammer.

Yes, Knoxx was bought by Blackhawk, but I ordered a "Breachers Grip" for my Mossy 500 on July 27 and it arrived Aug. 6, so they are filling orders without a backlog.
Also check Tac-Star and Tactical Shotgun Accessories for Mossy goodies.
As to your #5. I purchased a rail off of e-bay that fits those 4 tiny screws on the top of the receiver. a perfect fit. Do a search of "shotgun accessories" on e-bay at least to find the store. I used that rail for a light mount.

Unless it was brought back, the Sidewinder was discontinued a couple years ago, so you'll probably have to check the auction sites. For Knoxx products generally, you should be able to find them in various places (Midway, etc.)

midway? never heard of them [unless your talking about the Mortal Kombat guys]

p.s why does no one point out combat is spelled wrong?

Midway USA

I think it might have something to do with it being a game/movie/fiction. :)

The two are generally mutually incompatible.

Maybe at the same time... But fun can easily translate into regular practice which can translate into skill.
