I will be taking a class at Thunder Ranch at a time of year when it could rain. I'm well prepared for cold but don't have any good gear for rain - some gortex kind of stuff. I typically wear 4x sizes. REI online doesn't have stuff that big and cabelas and bass pro doesn't seem much better. Have any of you found a good spot for wet weather gear for big folks? Thanks.

Google up 66 degrees North rain gear. It is some awesome stuff, it rubberized denim, so it's on the heavy side, but the stuff don't snag or tear. Several years ago I bought a pair of 5x tall. They wear them up on the North Sea oil platforms. They take a beating for sure. Orange or bright blue are the only two colors that were available .

I marine supply house should have rain gear, frogged toggs, or go to the local harley davidson dealership for their "high viz" rain gear. The harley gear is not cheap but it holds up well. Do not get the cheap harley rain gear as it is not as durable.

Above suggestions are excellent.

My experience, while being neither big nor tall has been in needing wet weather gear to fit over military gear and/or cold weather gear.

This, in the past has led me to seek out otherwise outsized gear and I've been very happy with Patagonia's offerings.

They have a real sense of everyday requirements in mobility, durability and maintenance of their equipment. Some of my Patagonia gear is well over 20 years old and keeps me safe and secure.

I just googled your question.. Plenty of "larger - really large" rain gear available.

Wasn`t hard to find.
I've looked as well but mostly I seem to find non breathable stuff and none of the higher tech gear. All my other clothing needs have been easy to find online.
