A short while back I recall seeing some information about a company selling new complete Remington 870 trigger groups. The price was ridiculously low, IIRC, about $29. I thought it was CDNN, which currently has complete 870 bolts for $14.99, (http://www.cdnninvestments.com/remington4.html). But I could not find any trigger groups at CDNN.

Unfortunately I did not purchase a spare one when I should have. Now I can’t recall where I saw these. Anyone here know of a source?

This would be strictly as a spare and to cannibalize the newer flex tab shell lifter from.

Thanks,
Rob

You can get one new from Remington for $86.90, some versions $80.00, no restrictions listed for sale of the assembly. See the Remington web site at http://www.remington.com/pdfs/m870parts.pdf for the full parts list.

Trigger plate assemblies turn up on eBay pretty regularly, but not knowing the history of the item I'd be careful about paying too much. Watch the prices for a while and place your bid accordingly, inspect and evaluate your purchase carefully when it arrives to make sure it is fully functional and a proper fit in your gun.

CDNN had remanufactured trigger plate assemblies for sale at a good price a while back. As with anything the odd-lot/remainder/over-run places sell, best get whatever it is while you can. They sometimes have quantities of things too small to list in advertising, ask about this item every time you call. And keep an eye on Numrich etc. as well, there are other possibilities out there.

You can get the flextab upgrade kit for the 870 from Brownells- new lifter, complete bolt assembly and slide block included, everything you need to make the conversion work. It's around $65 IIRC, you'll need all the parts listed anyway. A spare bolt is a good idea, the listed cost for the entire bolt assembly at CDNN is but a couple of $$ more than just an extractor alone from Remington's parts list.

Stay safe,

Shamless Post to BTT :p

Rob62 , Right smart you are for thinking ahead .

Lee, as always good information shared.

After a fella gets a shotgun that fits, does the BA/UU/ R , training, etc., the smart fellow will invest in redundancy of another one or three of same gun - and spare parts and such.

I had a stash of such parts and mine went up in smoke ( literally).

Gee for the price of converting a stock shotgun to a PGO only one...they could get some really useful stuff. Did I really type that? :D

Thanks for the comments. I'm very hesitant to spend $80 or more for one of these trigger groups. Since I only paid $125 for the entire 870 there's just something wrong with spending more than half of that amount for a trigger group IMO.

I really should have bought one of these groups when I saw them on sale. (But I did buy a spare complete bolt for $15) Oh well live and learn. But then again I guess I don't learn - a few years ago I could have bought a used "beater" Sako .30-'06 for $165 and passed it up as well.
