Apparently the poll function is broken or I'm blind, so here are the choices:

a) Savage Mark II F (~$160)
b) Marlin 60 SN (~$150)

Either will probly get a cheap Bushnell 3-9 I already have. Anyway, Walmart has those prices, the best I've found in the area. The Savage is with the Accutrigger, and I'll get synthetic/blued barrel for either gun. It will be used for range/squirrel/gopher, possibly even grouse. I have used a 60 and understand its merits, but the Savage feels very nice and hear it's accurate (I assume slightly more so). So, any reasons to stay away from either of those from Wallyworld? Which should I buy?

(Don't want to afford Henry, CZ or Weatherby, and am sick of my 10/22)

I have the Mark II F model Savage in .22LR, and it is ultra accurate. I think that is the model that you are mentioning. It's a very nice trigger.

The Savage for accuracy and the Marlin for general plinking. Shooting a bolt action offhand can get kinda boring after a while; from a rest is a whole other story though.

Let me change my vote. If you get the Savage, and you miss a target, you got no one to blame but your own sorry self! You better get that Marlin 60 instead. :D

I currently got the Savage one, in their left-handed version, and it is extremely accurate and the accu-trigger is slick!!

The marlin is a fine rifle. Very accurate, especially for a semi auto. The savage is an accurate bolt rifle. Do you want a bolt gun or a semi auto? Either will shoot well and either should be plenty of fun and use. Pick what you like better.
