Which ankle do you carry on?

I am right handed, and am currently wearing on the outside of my right leg. My buddy has his on the inside of the left leg. and from reading on the net I think most right hander's wear on the inside of the left leg.

What and why is everyone's ankle carry preference's? and please specify what your strong side is.

Strong Side: Right

I carry on the inside of the left ankle. That way I can go kneel on my right knee, while pulling my left pants leg up at the left knee to clear the holster. It also allows the gun to be accessed by either hand.

I'm right-handed, and wear mine on the inside of my left leg.
I think another consideration besides what HiWayMan mentioned was for a little more concealment, i.e., if the gun butt "printed" on the fabric of the pants leg, maybe a casual observer would be less likely to know what it was. (Just maybe. )

I like that kneel-on-right-knee technique better than the stand-on-right-foot method for pulling up the left pant leg. I'll have to practice that. Thanks for the idea.

On the inside of your weakside ankle. It also offers the best concealment as your calf is straiter on the outside and the lines of your pants will show a bulge more, where as on the inside it is harder to make out the lines under your calf and between two legs.

I carry weak side for draw to my strong hand. Carrying on my ankle isn't as a BUG but for primary carry so I plan to shoot it w/ my strong hand. Now if it is my BUG, it would go to my strong side for weak side deployment

Right handed and use to carry on the outside of the right leg. This was a BUG (J frame S&W) under uniform pants and it did not show at all. Tried going inside of the left leg but the first time I got in a foot chase I beat the snot out of the inside of my right leg with the thing!

Inside of Left Leg! Balast, the gun can be drawn with week hand, just in case, in the BUG mode and is a natural for a kneeling shooting stance as a primary. No matter what anybody says though, the ankle is not the best as a primary. As a LEO who always carries a BUG I much prefer a vest holster. The best thing to be said about ankle carry is it is the most descrete. Nobody looks at your ankles. Bill

I'm right handed and carry on inside left leg for the above reasons... there's also another reason:

I drive an automatic car... that's the majority of the time i ankle carry (long car trips, etc). If it's on my left leg, i can conceivably still access the gun while using the pedals with my right foot. (ok, a bit of a stretch but i can gun the gas at a stop light and use my right hand to grab the XD SC or Bersa .380).
