Which AR: Les Baer TRS or Wilson Combat Urban Tactical?

100% legal in any jursidiction that doesn't have its own "ugly guns" ban. I've got one myself, serving as a backup to the M4gery I built during the ban.

Therapydude I looked high and low for a Colt LE6920 under $1200 with out a Leo letterhead, I could not find one. The finish on some of the $1200 plus Colts had machine marks and bad finishes. I purchased the Rock River Entry Tactical with a few extras and chrome line barrel for way under what I would pay for a COLT LE6920

There are better and equivalent choices for less money.

What he said.
As many here have already stated, there's no majic method to building a top tier AR that either of these companies has a lock on. You'll get MUCH more for your money by going with a Bushy, Colt, RRA, or LMT. All of which make an excellent AR. I would also give thought to having Adco or MSTN do a build for you, they come HIGHLY regarded and will set you up far better then either Wilson or Baer would. Just my .02

For your uses, I'd likely want a Bushy M-4gery type rifle, flat-topped, with some kind of optical sight (I want to call them reflex sights for some reason  ) and about a gazillion rounds. Then use the remaining money to have a nice dinner with a pretty lady and such not! :D

Honestly, for the price of a Baer, it ain't worth it. They claim to have lapped and fitted recievers, etc, etc. Guess what? My Armalite match rifle RATTLES audibly when given a good shake. It will punch the X-ring as far out as I can see the round bulls-eye with boring regularity, and it has never *knock on wood* hiccupped. The extra money just pays for the Les Baer or Wilson name, it doesn't make the rifle any more accurate or reliable.

I own Wilsons and love them dearly.

Have shot Les Baer ARs. I remain underwhelmed, although they did always go bang, I was expecting more. Unreasonable expectations perhaps. Own and carry Les Baer pistols.

I own Colt and Rock River and both brands have performed without flaw in school.

I appreciate everyone's input thus far. I've added the Colt LE6920 to my list of possible candidates. However, by the time I find one for ~$1500 and add a quad rail handguard (such as a Knight RAS free float), I could have easily just bought the Wilson with quad rail and saved myself some trouble. Oh well, I'm in no hurry. Guess I'll just keep mulling it over.
