Thank you all who posted in my Levers vs. bolts thread.

I have my bolt action narrowed down to the 10GXP3 or a CZ 550 in .308.

So is one better than the other or am I good to go either way.

Thanks,

I'm

For the most part, the major manufacturers nowadays make a pretty decent product for most everyone, so I don't really think you could go wrong if it says CZ, Remington, Ruger, Winchester, Savage, Weatherby, etc on it unless you're dealing with some specific needs. Like Art sez, finding one that fits you is probably the most important. A spectacular rifle that doesn't fit it's shooter won't do anyone any favors.

i'd go with the CZ

gonna have a better finish on it, and be a nicer looking rifle overall.

i'd get the 550 varmint synthetic, has an HS Precision stock.

good accurate rifles.

Your primary intended use makes some difference. If you want primarily a hunting rifle, a light rifle is the ticket. If you want a rifle for the range, heavy barreled, straight-stocked rifles are the ticket. Light rifles are the most versitile...though they will recoil more...only a problem if you shoot a lot on the range. (My brother's .270 Remington hunting rifle gave me a sore shoulder just sighting it in for him...about 5 rounds! Far worse than my .30-06 Springfield, which I can shoot all day.) Stock fit is crucial, and you should have a high comb to rest your cheek on if you are going to use telescopic sights. Specific cartridge is less important as long as you can shoot accurately.
