Which CZ for carry?

I have had a PCR for about a year. I like it a lot. Leather tuckable IWB holster.

I have the CZ 75 compact and I really like it, but if I had it to do again, I'd spend a little more and get the PCR compact. Why? Alloy frame and decocker.
What I might end up doing is use my CZ 40P for EDC...IF I can find a second factory magazine for it. (I already have the mecgar aftermarket, thank you...I want an original.)

Either or, they both carry the same with good leather.
Shown, CZ PCR and P-01 carried same time.

That's just me.
Long and short of it - the PCR is an outstanding pistol with a lot of benefits for CCW, like low mount Novak style sights, loaded chamber indicator and smooth dustcover. The P-01 is an equally excellent pistol, but less for CCW than duty, and with an M-3 rail which can mount a great many things, shown with NEBO light for nightstand duty.
More important than frame size if holster used - High Noon Holsters makes some outstanding rigs for CCW use, especially for the P-01 and PCR series guns, and they work.
P-01 in Double Jeopardy IWB rig, the most adjustable rig I've seen in some time.
Couple a good rig with a good belt and you can carry what you want.
If I had to choose P-01 or PCR, I'd probably go with PCR, just because of looks - they're both great pistols.

They're both good for EDC. Just a matter of whether you want the option to put a weaponlight on it or not. I liked having the light option and got a good deal on a used P01, but would have been just as happy with PCR.

Well said, both are great pistols. I have a P-01, if I could have found a PCR at the price I picked up my P-01 for I'd have opted for the PCR instead. Having said that, I love the P-01 nothing wrong with it at all!
I like the look of the 01, but it's heavier, and I have the bad back thing. I would wear it OWB, in a nice holster so maybe it doesn't matter as much. I think inside the waistband days are over for medium to large frame guns, for this cowboy.

I picked the PCR. It's lighter and the rail would both go unused and may end up just poking about on me.
Wear it IWB, in an adjustable FIST Inc. holster.
I didn't even change the grips. The stock rubber ones feel great. The only thing I changed is putting night sights on it. I think the ones made for the P01, because they don't (didn't, at least, at the time) make sloped ones for it.

Love my P-01 as I liked having the rail, thereby giving me the option of mounting a light when using it in the HD role.

To the OP, I have a p-01, but for IWB carry, the PCR will be the better choice. I carry in a shoulder holster when possible, which saves my back and makes even the heaviest guns carriable.
Well you sold me. now it's just a matter of which caliber. I went to 9 and 45, several years ago, simply because I shoot them better. But that CZ looks so shootable that I am thinking of 40 again. the shoulder rig I have will work with it, was for a glock 30 just need a different holster add on for the CZ, they sell them separately.
I don't know if I want to give up the extra rounds for the larger caliber though. It seems that their design was built around the 9mm.
I will get a nice leather OWB holster in Tan, for a Black Gun. I have a few Galco and Desantis holsters and always seem to favor the tan with a black gun.I read that Krydex can cut through the poly coating.

You do know that Mec-gar makes the CZ factory mags, right?
I'm waiting to stumble upon a PCR but it looks like you pay the asking price or you go without currently. ~$510 + S&H and FFL transfer is as low as i can find them for. Add two more spare mags and a carry rig and you're in pretty deep.

Well, not exactly. While MecGar certainly have a contract to make CZ mags, an actual mecGar labeled mag has a more robust, stiffer spring. I make it a regular practice to replace factory mags with MecGars as I've had many feeding issues in the past with the factory units.
And yes I contacted CZUB about the issue.

Mine came with two mags, but they were only the 10-rounders. I didn't feel the need to return it.
I can't say anything about the factory 14-rounders, because the only ones I've got at Mec-gar, they're more solidly constructed than the 10-rounders (or seem to be, with the long plastic base cap on them) and I have had exactly zero feed-related problems in the several years I've had it.
Moral of the story: don't sweat getting factory mags. Mec-gar's are at least as good.

Mec Gars are excellent, and everyone's neutered 10 round magazines are weak.
tuj, the P07 IS an excellent sidearm, and with the recent upgrades it is even more so. This is my first generation P-07.
Only problem I had was the seriously aggressive texturing felt like a cheese grater while carrying under a t-shirt. In AZ summers, it's one garment, not one and a covering garment!
It really comes down to what holster/belt you're using, as I can and do easily conceal a full size CZ SP-01 Phantom in a High Noon Down Under holster with a High Noon Rock Steady gun belt.

I know what you mean. I've had sore hands just from an extended session gripping the P07; the texture is extremely grippy and aggressive! That said, the gun never slips in my grip; very easy to hold. I put a spring kit from CajunGunWorks in my P07 and it dramatically improved the DA stroke.
I still use my factory CZ mags in addition to my Mec Gars. I just replace the factory mag springs with new ones from Wolff which are stronger than the factory springs.
