I am soon to be purchasing a set of 10mm/40sw dies. I have, and use RCBS, Lee, and Lyman dies. I see no huge differences in function, and truly have no preference between Lee and RCBS.
So, I need feedback on the sets. Lee carbide 3 or 4 die sets, probably 4 die since it will always be set up for 10mm. Rcbs 3 die carbide...both lee 4 die and rcbs 3 die are about 40 bucks shipped.

The only difference I see between the Lee and rcbs is that you crimp separately from seating, which has its ups and downs. I use s single stage exclusively.

When I did load 10mm I used a RCBS 3 Die Carbide set which worked fine. Lee does have the 4 die set including the FCD (Factory Crimp Die) if you feel a need for the FCD, I never used one in 10mm. Pretty much a matter of what you want. I like RCBS but Lee or Lyman will work fine. I assume you are loading for the 10mm Colt Delta Elite.

Just My Take....

They all work fine. Some are loyal to one brand or the other.

Ford or Chevy

Ginger or Mary Ann:)

Rule...that's kinda where i am on this..I think I will probably grab rcbs, just for simplicity. I don't care for the collet decapper lee uses. That's literally the only functional difference I see, stubborn primers are a pain when using Lee dies. It's nice that RCBS has the rebate for 2015 as well. 52 bucks, free shipping over 50, 10 dollar rebate...sold. I might go ahead and get .380acp while I'm buying.

I believe the Lee FCD has a sizing ring in it. If you load lead it can be a problem. I use Lee dies for 10mm but load only plated bullets

I don't load 10mm, but the Lee FCD is very handy since you can also use it as a debulger when needed. I use my 40s&w Lee FCD all the time to debulge my 357sig cases.

I don't load 10mm but will comment on 40S&W. I have carbide RCBS and carbide Lee dies for 40S&W.

What I found is Lee carbide sizer resizes further down on the case base to smaller OD than RCBS sizer.

Lee carbide sizer will resize 40S&W cases expanded to .430+" at the middle and .423"-.424" at the case base down to .420" all the way down to case base. RCBS carbide sizer won't touch the .423"-.424" case base.

As good as RCBS is, I like the LEE depriming pins better. They are actually roller bearings and near impossible to bend or break, Folks complain about the LEE O=ring lock rings but I have never had one loosen up, I have had RCBS set screw strip so they send you a bag full of them with some lead shot to fix the issue. If I want to adjust a die I do not want to use a Allen wrench.

For the price, I have a LOT of LEE dies.

I've bent a few decapper pins over the years (usually depriming crimped military brass). It's not something I worry too much about...I just keep an extra on hand and it's a quick change if it happens.

I have made... must be over 10,000 10mm rounds on one set of Lee dies. They work great.

Im going to get a refresher course very soon as I got a deal on a mech tech upper(250.00+t.) for my mod.23 gen 4 40 Glock. My FCD's have been on the back burner. Ive been 380 9mil for seems decades. Dillion SDB dies I have and think lee also so its time. I get a lot of help here thanks Guyz!

Any will work. I have Hornady, Lee, RCBS.
I like the Lees because of the powder thru and FCD.
Never had any issues with Decap ping using Lee dies that were not due to 1. User error, 2. Bad brass. Lee has replaced pins I mangled due to way off center flash holes for free. (and I told them the truth about how they got mangled)
The nut does need to be TIGHT. To tight and you can mangle the pin, to loose is no good either.
Never had an issue with pins in pistol brass so I just make the nut really tight.
Knocks out crimped 9mm primers no problem.

The Hornady and RCBS decap are maybe a hair smother, but I dont like the decap pin design. I do prefer their lock rings but the Lee rings do work fine for me.

That's the nice thing about a sort of free country :) you can choose what you like best.

The real question is if you ever plan to use a turret press. If so then the Lee set wins because you can use the Auto Disk measure.

FWIW, RCBS now uses a collet decapper very similar to the Lee.

10mm dies

Hey, I have a Lee carbide 3 die 10mm die set I'll sell you for $30 shipped, includes the shell holder, ream and chamfer tool, and the Lee case length gauge for trimming.

They aren't 10mm/40 though, they are dedicated 10mm dies. I bought them when the 10mm first came into production, and although I've managed to load .40 cal with them, it's requires skipping the bell and crimp step, which is fine with me.
