Which Glock Gen Is This?

I think my Glock 30SF is a Gen 3 but I’m not sure.
Am I correct that backstrap change is not possible for Gen 3?

Also, I can’t figure out my date code via the VTV serial number prefix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Google-Fu says it was manufactured in September of 2013.
If it has finger grooves and a rail, it is a generation 3 gun.

Yup.

Gen 2 didn't have the rail or the finger grooves
Gen 4 had the removable backstraps

You have a Glock 30S, not SF - short frame and slim slide. SF models are only with short frame. Glock doesn't make 30S or SF in Gen 4 - only the standard G30 is Gen 4, first two models are Gen 3 only. And yes, you can't change the backstraps on your gun.

Thank you but why does it say SF just forward of the slide lock?

Both models use the same frame - SF hence it is marked so, but 30S has the G36 narrower slide.
