Alright here's the deal. I'm shooting at the PSA Shootout in April, it's an all steel match, 6 stages 150 falling steel targets. All kinds of fun !

But me being me I can't make up my mind what gun to shoot it with. I know it's going to be a 9mm, but which one?

I'm down to 2 guns, either my Glock 34 or my Sig 226ST.

The Glock offers a longer barrel which develops about 50fps more then the Sig, but the Sig has the weight to keep me on target.

I shoot both guns equally, the Glock has a slight advantage when drawing from a holster (first shot time split) because of the trigger system , but at this match you can start from the table, which might equal out the first shot times.

The ammo isn't that big of a deal I've already decided on the Federal M882 that I shot IPSC with last year and was very happy with. From the Sig I got 1195fps average and the Glock gave me 1240 fps on average.

Give me some pro's and con's Help me decide. I really need to start practicing!

Hello

I vote G34. Hopefully I'll get to shoot at the Shootout this year. I live about 10 miles from the Palmyra Club, and am a member. I just never seem to be able to make the Shootout.
If I do I'll use G17.

Looking at the number of targets, I'm thinking MP5 to cut down on reloads ;)

Of the two . . . I don't know. Haven't shot either of them. I've shot Glocks and SIGs, just not those models. I'd have to replace the sights on either of them. I can't do the dot in a bucket or the dot over square well at all.

I'd probably use my Glock 24 P of the guns I have. If it were out already, I'd want the CZ 75 SP-01. Otherwise I'd probably be looking at the CZ IPSC Standard or CZ 75B SA for the heavier slide. I haven't cought up with the guns cycle times yet so a nice easy recoil does more for my shot to shot performance.

I like the way you think! I'd love to shoot a sub gun match, heck I'd love to own a sub gun! Thank God I work at a range that rents them and I have a few really nice customers that own them, and let me shoot them!

If I were deciding on capicity alone I 'd have to go for the Sig since I have 4 of the 20 round mags. But there is a 10 rd per mag limit
