Which is a better .22lr?

The Ruger can be safely dry-fired; mine is accurate and it's the most reliable .22 semiauto I've ever shot. It still feeds and ejects 100% reliably, with any ammo I've tried, including some of the cheapest bulk stuff you can buy, after several bricks without cleaning.

That's impressive. I've put several thousand rounds through my Buckmark in the last few months. I like the gun, but it's not very reliable with bulk ammo. Multiple failures to eject in the same magazine are not unusual.

One problem with the Ruger is trigger back-lash (continued rearward movement of the trigger after the sear releases.) An easy way to cure this is to stick a bit of Molefoam (tm) on the frame behind the trigger. Adjust thickness so the trigger comes to a stop just as it releases.

You can find Molefoam in the footcare section in any drugstore.

I've owned both Browning Buckmarks and Rugers. Only have the Buckmarks now. The Ruger is a good pistol and there's lots of after market accessories to make it as good as the Buckmark off the shelf.

I have a Ruger, 2 buckmarks and an old S&W 41. The Buckmarks are outstanding, the Ruger good and the old Smith is incredible.

Bang for the buck, it is hard to beat the Buckmark.

Bought the Buckmark back in January, Love it!! It has a Hi-Res front blade sight(yellow). It makes a big difference in ammo buys!!
