I would say silicone cloth, myself. Although my guns usually have been coated with CLP over the many times I've cleaned em...

Neither. Give them a couple of coats of good-grade automobile wax. Avoid polishes and wax that has an abbrasive in it. Wax is dry too the touch and won't wipe off.

I use a automotive chamois. After I clean my guns, I lay this chamois down and lube the gun's parts on it. I also use it to wipe off any extra lube. Since I use FP-10 exclusively for lubing, the cloth becomes impregnated with it. Whenever I need to wipe down a weapon after handling, I use the chamois and effectively apply a light layer of FP-10.

I personally like a silicone-impregnated cloth, but it's been hard to find cloths with enough silicone to do the job. I've bought several that proved bone-dry when I got them home and opened the packages. I finally found a good one about a month ago. I'd tell you the brand name, but there was so much silicone on the cloth, it heavily smudged the ink on the label. Amazing!

I use a cloth that has FP-10 on it for my firearms.
