I have a 2" barreled Model 36. I want to purchase a IWB holster that uses a clip attachment. I don't need a heavy-duty, all-day solution, just something that I can occasionally clip onto my pants for brief trips out after dark. I see that Uncle Mike's makes a cheapo holster like what I'm looking for, but are there any others that I should consider? Anything that costs around $40 or less would be fine. Thank you in advance for your responses.

The UM will work. Due to it being rather thin and soft material, the cylinder may poke you in the arse a wee bit.

If you are "fluffy" enough, you may not notice......

I really like the uncle mike's sidekick holster for this purpose... i've worn it all day (while sitting too) at around 1-2 o clock without any discomfort - but i'm a big guy, so YMMV.

Mika makes very nice holsters that just plain work!!

I bought a round cut pocket holster and a IWB holster for my S&W M638 Snub nose last year and I'm very glad I did. They may not be as "fancy" as the big name stuff but like I said, they work! The pocket holster is $18.95 and the IWB holster is $24.95. For just a little more than that $40 you wanted to spend you can have both. Here is the link to Robert Mika's site.

yes, Don Hume makes good stuff. But for IWB I like a holster with a tab to keep the gun from digging into my fat roll.

Second the Bianchi model 6 (mine is marked Bianchi 6 USP 40/45). I'm quickly learning to check the relatively-few holsters in the drawer before buying looking for more additions!

I just recently picked up a Brauer Bros. IWB holster. It is Black Nylon with a steel reinforced mouth. The belt clip is metal. I don't know how available these are. I got mine at a gun store in a suburb of Cleveland for $15. I was looking for a Galco IWB like the one for my 9mm auto, but all they had were these. I specifically wanted one with the ability to re-holster wiht one hand. This fills the bill, nicely.
