I don't know what model it is but it sure looks sturdy!..try checking a few old "Handloaders Digest" books, lots of pics of equipment were in them...

That is a Lyman All American. You can still get the adapter for the ram from Lyman that enables you to use modern style shell holders. It's a cast iron beast. I got a well used onef rom a friend when I started reloading again and have cranked out a lot of ammo with it. Now I gotta build me a primer catcher like that one.

J to X Shellholder Adapter

Thanks guys. I guessed an early model All American. I've been using it to deprime 9mm, but it has 38 special dies on it. I adapted a regular 9mm die holder that works fine for decapping.

Some things puzzled me: it's not cast iron, but cast aluminum---non-magnetic. There aren't any engravings or names painted on it. It is heavy and solid as a rock.

Blackrock: Thanks for the adapter info.

Lyman All American Turret Press. I'm still using the one we bought back in the sixties. Can't wear it out. Uses a screwy shell holder but they make an adapter to use standard shell holders..and a priming punch to go with it.

We had an earlier one with one huge hole and three 7/8-14 holes in the turret along with a set of 12 ga shotshell dies. Still have the die set and would sell it cheeeep if someone has the older style press. Couldn't tell from you picture.
