LRB No 2 that I put together a few years ago. They had just started to sale the Criterion barrels. I searched long and hard for the best parts and ended up with H&R pretty much on everything except the barrel and receiver. Ordered the flash suppressor from Elmer Balance (first manufactuer of Springfield Armory M1a's) in Texas. He was still selling a few parts as late as a few years ago.

Also have a 1990 build SA M1a, 7.62 heel marked that has a SAK barrel, TRW bolt, TRW op rod and complete TRW trigger group. Great shooter.

Both rifles were are rack grade weapons. No National Match parts or enhancements.

GC Burner: Your right. I looked and all of them are listed as NM quality. (FA website) Never noticed that before.:)

GLG20:
Nice looking rifle.

Here's my M1A-A1......

She came from the factory sporting TRW parts. (op-rod, bolt, complete trigger group). The bbl is an SAI (Wilson) 18in chrome molly.
The rest is all USGI, other than receiver of course.

I got it narrowed down further to the following...

LRB M14SA
SEI
762MM (forged)

Update:

My decision is now down to the following 2.

LRB M14SA
762MM

Keep um coming;)

Well, I wish I could help you from here, but I know nothing about the 7.62, so I don't really feel qualified to offer any further opinion, but if you do opt for the 7.62, and you have a little downtime, would you mind posting a review with some pics? I'm kind of interested in it.

I really don’t want to throw rocks at anyone’s receiver. A bud of mine bought a LRB rear lugged and it was a fine well built receiver. Inside it followed the GI contours.

The GI receiver was made as light as possible. Sidewall cracking is a problem with GI receivers and SA receivers, however SA added material to the sidewalls to stiffen their receivers and increase the impact life. I like that.

I have used Springfield Armory receivers and never had a problem dropping in GI parts into a SA receiver. New companies always have fit issues and you do not want to have to lap bolts to get them to close. There is a limited amount of case on those parts and grinding off the case is a bad idea. SA has got their fit figured out, they have an outstanding warranty and will likely be around for a couple more decades.
