A Savage 320 12ga combo or a Hi-Point 4595 45acp carbine?

Note: I have a break open 12 gauge and a Hi Point JHP.

do you want an apple or an orange?

pretty much all there is to it..they are two different guns,...which one do you want/ need more?

I need more information so as to formulate a proper response. What are your plans for either gun? Hunting/home defense with the shotgun combo? Range toy/home defense with the carbine?

.
In time, you will have both. Meanwhile, if you already have a 12 ga, then get the .45ACP carbine.

Personally, I'd focus on proper shotguns, 1911-pattern .45ACP pistols, and leverguns. Wait... I already do that. Carry on, then.

If it's purpose is only for fun (nothing wrong with that... I have many such firearms), then go for the better deal.

Hi point if it were up to me, based on the "you just won one or the other". Why? Already have my bases covered with shotguns and since I reload a pistol cal carbine sounds like a load of fun. Had a 9mm hi point carbine back in the day and it was a blast to shoot.

I'd also go with the Hi Point based on that "just for fun" criteria. Then again, I'm a wee bit obsessed with having multiple guns that can share magazines. It's honestly the only reason I bought a Kel Tec P-11, and the main reason I want a Sub2k (but would prefer a Marlin Camp 9).

Doesn't always work out in my favor that way, I always manage to get other guns with oddball mags, but it's always something I keep in mind.

Just for fun I would go with the Savage 320 12 gauge combo. More versatile and could do with another pump action shotgun.

Both. Being totally different, each will fill its role in it's own way.
