Which rifle to scope?

I have a Docter 4-14x40mm scope. I am thinking of scoping one of the following rifles. All have open sights.

1. Ruger #1 .30-06
2. Ruger #1 .375 H&H
3. CZ 550 .375 H&H

The CZ 550 has a little trouble with shooting high. It was shooting about 1.5 feet high, but I put the tallest front sight CZ offers on it and now its down to 2 or 3 inches high. I'm leaning towards the CZ because of that. The scope came with the CZ 550.

I'm not a huge scope fan, but I would like to have one scoped rifle.

Hard to think any .375 needs a 14x scope.

I'd put it on the cz after seeing the pics. if the rugers were a higher calber [.454 maybe] then i'd put it on one of them.

Well, I do have a #1 in .45-70, but was planning on leaving that one unscoped.

Looks like an excuse to buy a new rifle to go with your scope. I would not scope any of those.

I voted #1 as the .30-06 can take anything in NA, however if the CZ is problematic with irons put the scope back on.

The CZ or the 30.06 really. Given that situation I'd scope the CZ and hope it shoots better.

It's hard for me to think about needing a 4-14 on a .375H&H.

I wouldn't scope any of them myself. But if you have to mout it on something I would say the 30-06.

then, take the problem cz to the range, punch out at least 3 three-shot groups and take it to your 'smith of choice and show him poi and poa and he'll get the sight situation fixed for you.
