Which Scope To Buy

There's always more to the story than meets the eye. :uhoh:

I purchased the gun new in 1968 thinking of varmint hunting. Life stepped in and the gun got filed away and never used:eek:, so now that I am retired I want to use it some before I sell it, if I actually do.
Asking so many questions because I am not up to snuff on the present day shooting world and the current trends and opinions on things, also trying to read from the comments how to make up the gun and sight package that would make it easier to sell if so desired. Because of my age I will not be tramping and staking out the woods and fields, thus the target and plinking thing.

I think I can go with the SWFA 10x42 without too many complaints. It is very rugged and good enough for the military, so it should be fine for me.
