I've got two scopes available for use on my Savage .17HMR, a Bushnell 3-9x32 and a Leapers 4x32 AO. I've got the Bushnell on there right now and it's okay, but it has parallax issues and I honestly have no idea where the parallax is set at the factory. The adjustable objective on the Leapers is a nice improvement, but the main problem I have with changing scopes is the loss of the higher magnification that the Bushnell allows me, which is useful at longer ranges. The clarity of the glass is pretty much equal for both scopes, and the reticle on the Leapers is finer than that of the Bushnell, plus it's a mil-dot. The Bushnell is just a duplex.

No cheap-scope hate here, please, these are what I have and I'm trying to make do with it. They're not bad scopes. No "buy another one" suggestions. Anyone with experience with different types of scopes on a .17, please give suggestions.

IMHO, keep the bushnell if you can live with the parallax issues. I shoot a .17HMR with a 4-12x scope and really like the extra magnification for those 200yd squirrels,
