If I was to do it again, I'd probably buy a lyman turret press which was my first one though I did learn on a CH C frame.

I've loaded a lot of pistol ammo on a Lee hand press. Broke one from metal fatigue. Winters in Michigan are long.

I took a chance on a Lee Loadmaster progressive. It didn't take long for me to decide that I'm not going to use it in full progressive mode. Just too much going on for me.

I got rid of the case, the primer feeder and use this method. Insert decaping outside sizing die, insert neck expanding die. Add brass at station have partially finished brass drop into box.

Then prime off line with an AutoPrime. I never could get the loadmaster to prime w/o issues.

Line up of them in a loading block and fly over them with a Lyman 55 powder measure followed by an inspection of all using a strong light to verify powder levels. I also toss a measure into the pan for my scale to make sure the last throw is on weight.

Stick a bullet in the case and pick them up, insert into shell holder pull handle, repeat. Eventually the bullet is seated followed by being run though a separate taper crimp die.

I make my Loadmaster work for me but if I was to do this a second time, I'd replace it with a Dillon with all the bells and whistles. Would I run that in full progressive mode. Well, I do not know.

I started out with a box full of stuff years ago!

A friend of mine that owned a gun shop took in a bunch of stuff and in it was a box full of reloading supplies, which contained a Lee challenger Kit and a RCBS chucker kit....

I set up both of them on each end of a work table and everything I got from there forward was Lee..... I think it was a $$$ decision due to Lee was a little cheaper but now I think it was just cause I liked RED? LOL

I have the Challenger, A 4-hole Turret, and a pogressive pro 1000, and a load all for shotgun shells....however to be honest I pulled the Load all out of box and looked at and have never used it...had for a long time and always wanted to try and reload shotgun shells, but was always told it was not cost effective unless you were into more advanced needs than just occassional hunting with shotguns?

I dont know maybe try one day!

Happy New Year :)

keep what i have

sq deal for lots of pistol and a lee 4-hole for rifle and low-volume pistol like 32-20,
32acp 32 long, 32 colt, 38 S&W to name a few

PS Has anyone here got a load master....was thinking about getting one!

Pros / Cons ..... Just stay with 4 hole ?

Just wandering what other Lee people think about em....there about $229.00

Look nice!

I started with an LNL AP and added the Hornady single-stage unit a couple of months later for tasks best suited to such work. They both work great for me, so I voted Hornady (is their color orange or red? I'm color-blind to most shades of red).

Now if cost were no object I would probably get a Super 1050 with the Ponsness-Warren drive unit... it's fun to dream... :D
