If I was to do it again, I'd probably buy a lyman turret press which was my first one though I did learn on a CH C frame.
I've loaded a lot of pistol ammo on a Lee hand press. Broke one from metal fatigue. Winters in Michigan are long.
I took a chance on a Lee Loadmaster progressive. It didn't take long for me to decide that I'm not going to use it in full progressive mode. Just too much going on for me.
I got rid of the case, the primer feeder and use this method. Insert decaping outside sizing die, insert neck expanding die. Add brass at station have partially finished brass drop into box.
Then prime off line with an AutoPrime. I never could get the loadmaster to prime w/o issues.
Line up of them in a loading block and fly over them with a Lyman 55 powder measure followed by an inspection of all using a strong light to verify powder levels. I also toss a measure into the pan for my scale to make sure the last throw is on weight.
Stick a bullet in the case and pick them up, insert into shell holder pull handle, repeat. Eventually the bullet is seated followed by being run though a separate taper crimp die.
I make my Loadmaster work for me but if I was to do this a second time, I'd replace it with a Dillon with all the bells and whistles. Would I run that in full progressive mode. Well, I do not know.
