xs sights imho they are the best sights for defense. they are quick on traget and accurate too, regardless of what people say. it is very doable to hit 100yd pepper poppers with em. they are great for shooting on the move, weak, strong hand, as well as shooting at moving targets. they are bright day and night, and will really speed up your first shot time.
they do take a little getting used to for people that have been using 3 dots thier whole life but they are well worth the time spent getting to use them. personally it took e no time at all and i was running and gunning in no time with them on a glock 19, which i wasn't a fan of the glocks but those sights on that gun and i fell in love.

Both are infinitely better for fast acquisition than stock sights.
XS is the only one available with nightsights right now. Suresight is coming out with a second generation with improved plastic insert instead of paint, including Tritium Night sights which should be available in the next couple months.
If you want night sights now, get the XS.

There was a discussion on another forum about that very subject and one very good shooter claimed he had never seen the XS sights in IDPA, USPSA or IPSC. I have never seen a cop with them either. I owned a pair on a Dan Wesson Patriot 10mm and did not like them. I just could not get used to the sight picture.

they aren't intended for competition use, i am sure there are people out there that have used them in comp. as far as police officers, most officers are issued a weapon. i am sure that the leo that are allowed to buy there own that conforms to a pescribed list can have what ever sights they want on there. maybe am wrong about the leos and i would like to see some leo's that have more knowledge chim in.
specifically those that are allowed to carry other than the issued gun. are you allowed whatever sights you wish?

I have a very limited collection of firearms (judging by what I'm seeing in that 'post your arsenal' thread!), and haven't even considered replacing the factory sights on my handguns before now.
