My wife has the G27... loves it.

I've carried it on occassion, and I like it to. Shoots well, reliable, small, and holds 9+1.

Hey Waldo, how do you like the lasermax? I'm considering saving up for a laser of some sort, and I really like the lasermax internal lasers, but they have gotten different reviews. Some people swear by them, others, especially people who haven't used them, seem to feel the lasergrip option is far better.

Been carrying my Glock 27 since 2001, no complaints. I have the Pierce pinky rest and a G23 magazine as a reload.

I'd take the 239 over any of your choices.
I concur.

Of the three choices presented, I'd probably take the XD. It points better than the Glock for me, and it's less likely than the Kahr to have issues.

I do not care for the CZ Rami; it's too chunky for a subcompact.

Glock 27, without a doubt in my mind.

Glock: Though the others might be reliable, the Glock shines above the rest when it comes to a history of reliability AND awesome DURABILITY, for sure.

Glock: a MULTITUDE of aftermarket parts, and easy to find replacement parts.

Glock: Simple to operate with few parts (especially outwardly), and thus less likely to fail, when you compare it to the others with all the bells and whistles. Simplicity trumps all when it comes to a weapon that you're going to use in a HIGHLY stressful life and death situation.

Glock: Simple and quick to take down and clean.

Glock: You can get a pinky extension if you're not comfortable with the stock grip.

Glock: You can easily heat up the back of the grip and push in that "hump" if the angle is too much for you. That "hump" is there because of the hole in the bottom-rear of the grip, so one can more easily grasp the magazine in case it ever gets jammed up there for whatever reason. Glocks were made for chaotic combat, and this is just another plus.

Glock: You can get 29 round magazines for the .40 models. :D

XD40sc with 9 rd and a 12 rd mag. Pearce grip extension for the little finger on the 9 rd mag.

Later add 9mm conversion barrel and use same .40 cal mags for plinking. Suggest using actual 9mm mags if carrying for self defense.

You will not regret it.

Glock 26 baby!:D

I just got rid of my XD9SC, not a .40, but the same size. Quite top heavy and rather unwieldy. The grip is also a bit longer than the G26/27/33, which makes it more difficult to conceal.

I've been carrying a g27 for quite a while, though.

I am not a fan of the XD's, and I did give them a shot by buying one.

Why anyone would want to carry XD-sc I can not imagine. Heavy. cumbersome. yeeecchhhh....

Kahr is the way to go. Why? Because it's highly accurate, lightweight, stows well, thin, or at least my CW9 is...I voted Kahr PM40.

someone said PM9 and not PM40, whatever, but never gave the reasons why.

Opinions without reasons are unfounded opinions.

And isn't a Glock 26 9mm only? And isn't the 27 double-stack mag in 40? When will Glock ever learn?

I don't GET IT. :banghead::fire::what::cuss::barf::banghead::banghead:

Actually none of those m y son has a Taurus PT140 and it shoots when you pull the trigger, every time.

Why did you not include the M&P40c? Excellent firearm, good warranty, fantastic customer service, $50.00 rebate and 2 extra mags until 4-30-08.

I own one and love it, sold my XD40SC after buying the M&P.

True, the M&P is another contender...

I borrowed a buddies G27 for a week and really liked how it disappeared. Very concealable. I assume only the Kahr would be more easily concealable out of the ones mentioned in the thread. I'm not in love with Glocks - they seems so blocky and utility-ish compared to my Sigs, but you know, that Glock may be just what I need for my sub-compact concealed carry weapon.

@BlenderWizard - thanks for the comparison pics. That XD does seem top heavy - and long grip/short barrel.

Thanks for everyone's input. According to the vote, the XD has edged out the Glock and the Kahr has been nearly doubled by the others.

Thanks Rayden, I'll check out the HK before I buy this week. Looks pretty nice as well.

One thing AGAINST Kahr is that their reliability is spotty at best.

True of the older models; however, the 4 I've had (including a PM40) have been flawless. Mags are expensive though...
