As already mentioned, I'm busy making a "temporary Bubba" out of a nice Yugo M-48 Mauser. It shoots "pretty good," as is, in its military configuration, but I want better. Have gotten a scout 'scope mount, am ordering a Boyd's stock, and it gets a new trigger. That, plus the scout 'scope itself, oughta do it.

This is where it gets puzzling: What trigger do I order??? The trigger manurfacturers and dealers' websites are at best, unclear, on whether a Mauser 98 trigger fits an M-48. Or is it a Kar98 that I use? Surely not a 94 or 96 Mauser, or a Swede or an FN Mauser??? Halp!!

I would buy any good trigger (I'm partial to the Timney but any comparable would probably work just as well) if the durn manufacturers would say clearly which doggone model to get. :banghead:

Can y'all advise me?

Got my answer!

Well, Dutchman, the question has been answered. The Brownell's website had the info, and the trigger. The M-48 distinctly wants the Timney M98-FN trigger, they say so in so many words. So I ordered one, and their latest catalog, and a NRA round-up buck while I was at it.

(BTW, the Timney website, which I'd checked before my original post, did not make this issue clear. You'd think THEY would want to be complete authority on applications for their product, but, well, I'll take the info I can get where I can get it. I had also checked every other trigger manufacturer's website I could think of, with similar lack of results.)

Brownell's has come through for me in the past, and here they are again. :)

If it fits, which I expect, I'm confident the trigger will do what I need. Have been well satisfied with the previous Timneys I've installed.
