Was just curious if some were loyal to one caliber or another. I've owned several guns in several calibers but have settled on a few for simplicity because I'm a K.I.S.S. kinda guy.
For handguns I like the .45acp (however I just bought a SP-101 .357 for the wife), .30-06 for hunting rifle, 7.62X39 for my deadly "assault rifle" caliber, 12 gauge for shotgun and the complimentary .22LR rifles for all-around fun.
It makes it much easier and less expensive to buy ammo when your shopping for one caliber for the gun you want to shoot for the day instead of searching for the best deals in a plethora or cornucopia of options.

Revolvers:...........45 Colt
LA rifle, (rev cal):.45 Colt
Auto pistol:.........45 ACP
LA rile: (rifle cal)...30WCF
Bolt rifle:..............308 win / 7.62 Nato

Thats about a boringly caliber loyal as I can get.

I'm pretty spead out but if I had to limit myself to 3 calibers, I probably could... .22-ish, (a 22LR, 22 magnum and a 223) 277-ish (270 Win.) and 45-ish (45ACP, 45 Colt, 45-70)

But then, I'd miss my 243, 25-06 and wouldn't be able to get a 6.5x284 which I have a hankerin' for nor the 350 Rem or 35 Whelen I'd like to get sometime.

...and here I was all tickled because I just added two more calibers to the list recently: .38 Super and .380 ACP. :)

Not much of a shotgunner.

For handguns, I'd have to say .357 Magnum. I also buy .38 Spl though; for practice. I own a 9mm, but a .357 was my first pistol and hence, my first love.

For Rifles, I'd have to say that 5.56 NATO is edging out my .30 Carbine right now. Gotta get that M1 Carbine fixed.

Of course .22LR is a given.

I try to keep my calibers simple, but I'm going to hopefully be getting by year's end, or maybe a bit after:

.45ACP
.30-06
.44 Mag
7.62 Soviet
10mm Auto - (Maybe)
.41 Mag - (Maybe)
.32 Mag - (Maybe)
7.62 NATO - (Maybe)

This is in addition to the:
5.56 NATO
.30 Carbine
.357 Mag/.38 Spl
9X19mm
12 Gauge
.22LR
I already own!

14 Calibers! How ever will I manage?:D :D :D

The closest I come is owning a lot of 9mm Luger handguns. I have one 9x18 Mak, and a Browning Buckmark .22 LR for target/plinking.

I only own 12 gauge shotguns, but I want a Serbu Super Shorty in 20 gauge.

In rifles, I own a lot of things.

The only cal I would say I was loyal to is the 12ga (yeah I know its not a caliber). I don't think I will ever own any other gauge because 12ga is the cheapest ammo and it seems to do anything I need a shotgun to do. I shoot skeet and don't hunt so I don't need variation.

I tend to really like calibers that have enough, but not more than necessary. Thus the elegance of the .257 Rbts really appeals to me, as does Mike's .300 Savage. (I own neither, though I've ready access to a Mk I M77 .257)

The .45 Colt similarly makes the grade. (And, again, I find I don't have one.)

The 16 ga. is another.

And the old original 7mm.

Funny, but I don't seem to have anything in any of these calibers! :)

For large bore rifle, .35 Whelen works nicely. (I DO have one of those. )

Room to grow, room to grow.....

Ahh.. talking logistics!!

.22LR for practice
.40SW for everything semi-auto
.357Mag for everything revolver
.308 for everything rifle
I'm currently using a 20 gauge pump shotgun.. but MIGHT get a 12 gauge.. That would ruin my logistics slightly, but that's ok, gf will probably get the 20 gauge..

Tamara,

Do you have a 380/200 British service revolver yet? :D

I have had many but think 22 RF, 38 Special, and 45 ACP could serve for one hand weapons.

308 Win, 375 H&H for shoulder fired missles;

12 gauge for things that creep or fly.

Of course, that would leave out a lot of goodies like 10mm Auto, 458 Win Mag, and 223 Rem/5.56mm.

Oh yeah, 357 Magnum, Super 38, ...

BigG,

Do you have a 380/200 British service revolver yet?:D

Nope. Although I did buy one, a No.1*(Enfield), for my little brother as a birthday gift some years back. I wonder if he still has it?

I like the .22LR. Then I have a few more but I'm partial to the ones I have reloading dies for. 30-06, 223, 308, 6.5x55.

Regards.

All the gun's I've bought have been the following:

.40S&W
.45ACP
.357MAG
.44MAG
.223
.308
12GA

This does not include guns I've inherited or received as gifts, just the ones I've had control over. Rest assured, I'm an equal opportunity shooter, and will shoot anything. There are plenty good calibers out there, I just try to keep it simple. The problem that has arisen of late, is that even guns in the same caliber require different ammo. For example: my Savage .223 shoots Black Hills Moly 75grain, and my Remy .223 shoots Federal Gold 77 grain. My pistols are the only ones that I can really buy a standardized ammo for. I pretty much stick to PMC for target ammo and Corbon for SD.
