Who else carries a single action?

It's not to far off track to consider a SA revolver.
I haven't yet but have I have thought about it. Just for comparison, here is a Ruger Old Model Vaquero in .45, above a Taurus .38. Yes there is a difference, but it's not outrageous. even though the loading would be slower, if you can't get the job done with six .45s, you need to be running anyway. vaquerotaurus.gif

I'll add one major thing here: whatever SA you carry should have a transfer bar or equivelent safety so that the gun is 100% drop-safe. I don't think street carry of a traditional zero-safety gun is a good idea, even if carried five-up.

BB, in the early 80's I first felt the "need" and a Ruger Super BH was what I had.. Only once while hiking did I ever have a need.

There were a possible 8 bg's when one of them got up and followed me on the trails and when he spoke he said "That kid will look better with his head bashed on that tree." My son was 2 at the time and inside my pack with his face peeking out and I had said not a word.. never did, but I turned to look in this jerks eyes and motioned at the grips.

That did it so far as the thug was concerned, but I was havin a hissey fit with 5 rounds in the old 3 screw!

I came bt a colt 1911 which was WW-2 vintage, and that dam thing became collectable, so I bought a EEA Witness in poly and .45acp. It runs great and I have no idea why no one likes them. It feels something colt like too.

Next came a Kimber CDP Pro II and the 2 extra mags of course. Still I didn't feel all that secure and or discreet with a custom shoulder rig, and ALSO went with a NAA mini converable which I am never with out, not ever no matter what, no matter where.

So..... now I am looking into another wheel gun for CCW.

The way things are these days..... I am thinking keeping my brass mine is a better idea..

I think it might be a better idea for you to look into another Ruger with the numbers 101 in the name. That might be a .357 and or a little new something that uses .327... Yeah .327 is no typo..

I already have a Milt Sparks Summer Special holster, made for an SA sixgun, ready for my retirement, when I can carry what I want instead of what my chief says I can carry. It will be no more difficult to hide than my frequent CCW choice today, a 4" Ruger Speed Six. (I am required to carry a DA auto in uniform, my choice being a SIG P229R.) Does this mean I will normally carry an SA sixgun? Not necessarily, but if I am heading out to the country for some recreational use of the SA, that is one less big sixgun to tote around. I will probably continue my habit of having a smaller hideout gun, regardless of what is riding on the belt.
