I'm looking for a pistol grip shotgun i can put a tac light on, i know the mossberg 500 is a good one, but do any other manufacturers make a pistol grip 12 gauge pump?

Remington 870, man!

They're much more pistol-grip-friendly in my opinion, since the safety is a crossbolt-style by the triggerguard as opposed to the Mossberg's tang safety, which is harder to get at with a pistol grip stock.

Before I started looking for accessories for my 870, I thought you had to buy a pistol grip shotgun from the store as is. I didn't know that they actually sold pistol grips for the 870. Not my cup of tea but nevertheless the options are there.

To buy a Pistol Grip (grip only, not PG+stock) is relatively cheap, I'd buy a 500 (or 870, whatever it is) which comes with std stock, then get yourself an aftermarket PG for just ~$30 bucks. That gives you best of both worlds: you can change between stock/PG like girls change clothes :D

My $0.02

Yeah, get a standard shotgun then put an aftermarket pistol grip on it. I would highly recommend the Hogue Tamer Grip.

That's the main reason I got my Maverick instead of the M500. Safety's on the trigger guard so it's much easier to use with my pistol grip stock I got for it. Saving a hundred bucks was an added bonus :D

If you do make a normal shotgun a pistol grip only shotgun be aware they still need to be 26" overall in length to not violate the NFA.

Some standard receivers like the aforementioned 870 are already long enough that when combined with the minimum 18"+ barrel and any sort of handle they are already 26" +.
However a large number of shotguns receivers are not as long and would become an illegal NFA item if you simply made them pistol grip only.
On such shotguns you would need to use a longer barrel to still total 26" in length.

Im not trying to be a buzzkill here but why do you want a pistol grip for your shotgun? Is there going to be ultra tight quarters or door breaching going on?

I have found standard stocks if fit well do a great job. Even better than the ol' Knoxx stocks for the money.

i want the pistol grip just cause i think it's wicked. I shot my brother's pg today and really liked it.

thanks for the help guys, i did'nt know you did'nt have to buy pg only.
