I'm interested in the high capacity FNP, I think it is 15 per magazine. If you have one or have shot one, what are your thoughts?

I used to carry a Paraordinance P14-45 and two extra magazines. But I got tired of the weight. I'm wondering if this might be the way to go. I like the fact it is DA/SA, but even more as it can be carried and fired in SA for all rounds.

I have a Five Seven, but that is all the experience I have with this company. How does the trigger compare to a Glock or an XD?

Thanksp

owsi26,

I had a brand new one. One of the best machined and finished semi-autos I have ever owned. I would not recommend an FNP-45 for carry. Although lighter than a fully loaded Para, the FNP is a honkin' big pistol. It would be like trying to conceal a cigar box under a tee shirt.

There are also some mag issues with the FNP with certain loads related to cartridge OAL, resulting in feeding issues.

I have also owned an M&P 45, and currently have an XD. I do not like polymer pistols, but I really like my XD. The M&P was an excellent pistol and either the XD or M&P would conceal much better.

I haven't had any trouble with the often mentioned WWB in my -45 USG; or any other ammo for that matter. It's a good gun, but a little thick for my tastes in CC.

I am really begining to love mine. Fantastic combat firearm... not a CCW. Very accurate and the DA trigger is smoothing out very nicely.

I was in the market for a hi-cap polymer .45 last week, and it was a toss-up between the Glock 21SF and the FNP45. I liked the look and ergonomics of the FN better but NOBODY had one in stock for me to fondle! So I found a member here selling a new 21SF for $450 shipped and pounced on it. I've yet to fire it but I still want a stainless FNP! :banghead:

you know.. the size is not a huge issue... it is just funny when you find a gun that is larger then a M9.

Nice holster.

larger than the M9?

That's way more gun than I would want to lug around all day.

BTW, how much does it weigh fully loaded?

I love mine. It's been one of my most satisfying purchases. FN makes a great gun, and the FNP-45 is a great value. FN's manufaturing is top notch, and the gun is entirely made in the USA. Machining and overall quality is great, accuracy is fantastic, function is flawless. It is a large gun, but is very easy to shoot well, at least for me. I've not fired a glock or XD, but the trigger is nice. I have no complaints. Carrying this gun could be a chore for some due to its bulk and weight, but clearly, it can be done and has been done. Buy it!

If I remember right it was just over 40 oz. with 15 rounds

The CB Supertuck makes packing it around a non issue.

The loops are set far enough apart that it is pretty much not even noticed.
I have other holsters that are a single loop and they get tiresome after an hour or so.
