I have contacted both senators, my congressman, and my governor 2x about this issue. However, I have not received a response from any of them. The good thing is I am pretty sure they are all pro gun. Let's hope we can make a difference.
I contacted my rep concerning a couple of issues in one message, including 2A. No correspondence as of yet, I gave him some homework to do. My rep seems to have an excellent bearing on the issue, not one of those "protects the rights of sportsmen" only types. Still can't hurt to contact your rep regardless of where you think they may stand. If nothing else, at least they'll know that they don't stand alone.
Edit; I'm so glad that so many on this board are involved. We citizens are 100% responsible for the retention of our rights and you guys seem to understand that while so many do not. Keep up the good work, Patriots.
Wrote to Governor Cuomo, and left voicemails with two state-level legislators. Also considering writing to Vermont's Governor Shumlin - I live in NY, not Vermont, but I'd be heartbroken if the state that has perhaps the fewest restrictions goes down the dark path of prohibiting certain classes of firearms.
I posted a link that will give you their email addresses, while you are at it write Dianne Fienstein, CA, and tell her what you think of her proposed new law. There is a post with links that make it easy to find your reps and even a sample letter there.
I don't think it will do any good though. My Sentators are Obama sheep and have already come out and stated they want an AWB. My congressman is Cantor...who won't do anything Obama wants. My state legislators are both very gun friendly.
