The first handgun that I bought for myself was a Sig P6. Great gun, but ended up going by the wayside for 1911s and then eventually sold to a buddy.

Anyone here carry a Sig on a daily basis? Which one? Ive been thinking of picking up another.

I carry a P239 .40, but not always. I carry my LCP 100% as a bug or only carry gun, and my P239 80% of the time depending on the situation.

P239 DA/SA 9mm here. I used to carry it almost exclusively until I picked up a G26 a few years back. I still love that Sig, but it has to share holster time these days.

Sigs

The agency I retired from in 1995 had begun issuing P-229 in .40 a couple of years earlier. I bought myself a 229 and a 239, both in .40 and am comfortable with both. Now that I'm not in uniform any longer I am very happy with my P-238, .380. I had one very minor issue with it out of the box but it now is my "go-to" ccw and constant companion. I've never had a bad Sig.

Sometimes a 220 Carry and sometimes a 226 E2-but most aways a SIG
(okay, I confess to pocket carrying either a Ruger LCP or a Colt Cobra on those occasions when anything bigger would be too big).

P6 here. For a such a skinny guy I'm surprised I can carry it IWB as well as I do.

I love sigs, but in my opinion the current lineup is just to dang heavy for carry in standard defense loadings. (With exception with the P250, which is widely regarded as a lemon). Consider the Sig P239, which carries just 8 rounds of 9mm and comes in at a whopping 29.5 oz. Contrast this with a kahr P9... which has a similar barrel length and 7 round 9mm capacity yet weighs just 17.7 oz. There are just better choices out there, even for those that are weary of the polymer.

By the way, my carry choice is the M&P9c, but I'm still waiting on a permit

if the weight concerns you, you don't HAVE to carry on the belt or in the waistband...

put it in a shoulder holster. Even if its warm out, you can put on a button-up shirt over the holster and button it part-way up. When it's cold, you put a jacket on over it.

I sometimes carry my 1911 C3 when I have a jacket to cover it, and it's no harder than my M&P c 45, USP c 45, or XD c 45. My P220 seems a bit bulky for everyday carry though.

Majichelmt, I do much the same thing with my own SIG 220 Carry and Smith 6906. However, there are occasions when the climate/social situation dictates pocket carry and I've been known to tote a Ruger LCP or a Colt Cobra to best accomodate those situations.

I first carried the SIG P239 .357SIG, then a P232, pocket carry a P238 very rarely. My daily beater is for now a CZ PCR, but I am determining whether I will replace it with a SIG 1911 RCS. Still need some testing on the RCS and both Federal EFMJ, and Glasser / Corbon Powerball, so far so good.
