Seriously, I'd bet that there are going to be some killer aniversary guns from many of the usual suspects. We're now 2 years and change away from the centennial of the Army's adoption of M1911; If you were Kimber, Wilson, Les Baer... heck, even Taurus, you might have at least one serious model in the hopper right about now–time will tell.

I'd bet further that the offerings will split between two philosophies:

Serious-dollar, spare-no-detail works of art and

Everyman workaday (but loaded) exemplars.

I have no idea what I'll buy March 29, 2011. But I'm saving up, just in case...

^^^^^^^^^^ :D

And if the Mayans don't get you will you be able to buy a gun in 2011? And by that time the tax on ammo should make a box of 45 $100.

Save for a rainy day, should be plenty of those ahead.

If the mayans are right, at least you can go out in style...

C'mon legion, it's only two years away. The Gov't doesn't do anything that quickly, even the foul stuff...
;)

It would be kinda interesting if some were made in the form of the early Colts. You're probably right; I can envision some beautifully finished and highly priced special models coming from the manufacturers if the semiauto boom continues that long.

Not looking that far ahead with the savings though.:scrutiny:

I think Ill be celebrating the 76th anniversary of the Browning HP in 2011. But wait I can celebrate the 74th right now.

The Mayans...hah!! They're clearly wrong. They missed the date their own Apocalypse...

STI makes and sells a gun model called the 2011 NOW....

I got 3 !

Correct me if I'm wrong... Didn't we all grow up with the impression that we would be using ray-guns by 2011?

Come on guys, Let's demand our ray-guns.

chirp, chirp, chirp...

Hmmm, I guess that I stand alone on this.

I'm saving up (again), but not for any commemorative anniversary doo-dads. I don't know how people leave guns in the box for years. Shoot 'em fer pete's sake.

The only ray-guns in our future would be replacing our current high emission internal combustion guns.

I don't want to reload by plugging my ray-gun into the wall outlet.

A ray-gun would be awesome, though.

What color lazer beam would you want. I want blue.
