I was reading my "Gun Notes" by Keith and he states that bullets for revolvers should The right at groove diameter or slightly undersized. Taffin says bullets should be sized to the chamber throats.
Is one of them wrong?

Lead bullets should be slightly over groove diameter. Is "undersized" a typo? They should also be a slip to tight slip fit to the throats. With luck the throats are slightly over groove diameter. If they are under you will have to enlarge them to shoot lead. If they match it, you might get by, but they should be slightly over.

If the throats are undersized, you might as well size for the throat -- `cause that's what you're going to get entering the forcing cone -- no matter what else you do.

Rugers are notorious for undersized throats relative to the grooves. Hence all the throat reamers now available through Brownells & te like)

Yep, lead bullets are best sized to chamber throats in rifles and cylinder throats in revolvers, which if the gun is built correctly will be pretty darn close to groove diameter or a bit larger (my .44 revolvers have .430" throats with .429" groove diameters...). So, both are right (but I let my guns talk to my, not celebrities).
